ori128 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Happened only recently, after trying some more mods. last few mods i've added are: Magical College of Winterhold - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1539 Landscape fixes - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9005 Visible favorited gear - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3903 and 2 mods which i've installed and removed from load order later on: Skill uncapper - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8889 Skill uncapper for Ordinator - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11194 Basically problem started about after installing these ones.. My complete load order is: Spoiler I did try Fallrimtools to clean the save and it kind of did fix some issue but the ctd's are still there. Taking suggestions on what to do next.

Just to clarify. You are saying you get these random CTDs in your current game after making load order changes to your current game. You have not tried this set of mods in a NEW game.
ori128 Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Yes, the first one. Basically once i started this new character i gradually added more and more mods, usually 3 each day of gameplay to test stability over time (i had a massive ctd issue in my last character so i wanted to go safe this time). Things went pretty good till the last few days, so i have these suspicious mods that may or may not cause the ctd's (not too frequent, but any ctd is an annoying one). Thing is, when i test mods, i sometimes remove (disable) them from the load order if i dont find them worthy/causing issues, and im aware that removing mods from a gameplay can cause stability issues, so i used fallrimtools to fix some of these issues, but the ctd's still happen here and there. I was basically forced to disable some mods due to frame drops (the verdant grass fix mod + 3d trees are fps killers apparently). Another suspect is the 2 mods that claim to uncap skills (skill uncapper + ordinator.ini mod) - the last 2 in the load order that are currently disabled.

While some people disagree with me, my experience is that changing the load order in an ongoing game is an excellent way to induce a CTD (save tools notwithstanding). This is by no means unique to me. VirginMarie, the author of the excellent "Shout Like a Virgin" mod goes so far as to call this her "golden rule" on her modpage. I wish I had easier advice but I believe that to get your game stable again you'll just have to start another game.
ori128 Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Well im not 'changing it' per se, but rather im adding mods and then resorting the load order with LOOT to fit the new mods being added to the order. How else can i play this game? Are you expecting of me not to add more mods the further i play a character, or rather, not to sort the load order once i add new mods? Also, i was meticulously writing all the mods i've added through the days since i began with this character, always adding ~3 mods per day of gameplay to verify i get no CTD's, excluding the first few days, and the damn game ran smoothly without hiccups the entire time. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not "expecting" anything from you. I am sharing with you what I have learned from others (see above) and my own experience. When I play Skyrim I do not change my mods or my load order until I am prepared to start a new game (with a few exceptions, mostly armors).
ori128 Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 I see. So what are my options now? The mod author of fallrim tools used to offer clean services if i sent him the saves, but it wasnt much help back then and his mod page says he's on hiatus due to irl stuff. is there another software i can try to clean saves? or any other mod to fix this? Considering things were ok till a specific few mods were installed... something must be triggering the ctd.

Considering things were ok till a specific few mods were installed... something must be triggering the ctd. The problem is this manner of thinking. A decent analogy here would be mixing paint. You've added the yellow to the blue and gotten green. While you can do things to minimize the impact, you can't ENTIRELY remove the yellow. I like Fallrim tools and use them myself because they do help minimize the damage but that's all it can do. In my experience, and this is by no means everyone's, I can get several more levels out of a game by cleaning my saves when I've fouled it up. Oftentimes that is enough to give me a sense of fulfillment. However, to my way of thinking, your only GOOD choice is to start a new game with the mods that you now know you really want. Add mods again (or eliminate mods again, or change load order again) only when you've basically decided that you're done with this playthrough and want to try out other things for the next one.
ori128 Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 I really cant seem to comprehend this answer, because what you're saying is that everyone who keeps adding mods into their load order is bound to have potential issues. There's no way this is that common, as the modding community wouldnt thrive with that much room for potential ctd's and whatnot. How am i supposed to play this game then? Is it either without mods or totally risk bricking my save because i decide to play with mods? How do other 'pro modders' have literally hundreds of mods into their load order and they dont have a single ctd? I just cant find your answer a fulfilling one. Putting this answer aside, is there someone in this ofrum that can take a look at a save file and diagnose its issues? Someone i can contact to? For now i will contact markdf again and hope for the best. :|
