Kasg Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Whenever I approach Whiterun on the overworld the game decided to crash to desktop. If I teleport or start inside Whiterun I can move around the city just fine, but as soon as I exit the gate to Skyrim it crashes. At first I thought it could be Cutting Room Floor because I saw that it could interfere with Alternate Start - Live Another Life but the problem still persists. This happens whether I go there on an existing saved game or in a new game. I've checked and double checked my mods through on their respective mod pages to see what could be wrong, but I haven't found anything. Maybe I'm just blind. Nicholesta Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 I had this problem. For me, it was Arthor's Dawnstar but I don't see that one in your mod order. I can't tell you why Dawnstar was doing it since it's a totally different world space and has nothing to do with Whiterun. I even looked in xedit for a conflict and didn't see one but the turn them off 1 by 1 method doesn't lie. It's some other mod for you but I advise you just do it the hard way (assuming your using MO2) disable half your mod order, look for missing masters and disable those .esp, Try to run the game and see if your have a CTD. If yes, its one of the half you left enabled. If no, it's the other half. Switch them off and confirm. Then half of those and repeat till you find the offender. Then check that mod to see if its incompatible with something, needs to be low or high in load order or just won't play nice and needs to go. In any case your problem will be solved.

Even when I disabled all my mods, which hints at something worse. ? *EDIT* So as disabling and enabling hasn't worked for me, I ran TexGen and DynDOLOD again and I came up with this interesting little tidbit. < Can not read Root block from meshes\lod\whiterun\wrwallstr01_lod.nif Not a valid NIF file > Could this be the cause of all my headaches, and if so how do I fix it? Google isn't giving me much to go on.
