On a number of forums I frequent, they have a delayed enrollment process, where the applicant must fill out his/her stuff and then wait for verification for admittance by email. Also, some have those spambot test screens where a bot is stopped at the door. Since we have been bot spammed so many times, recent, these ideas should be considered to relieve the aggrevation.
