Need some help

Hi all. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to sims4 modding now I'm going to start modding sims but I'm stuck on bodies. I see a few body replacers out there but have no idea how they work. All i want is a good looking male body and a female body for use. I see that you have a top and a bottom. Now I have a top for females i wanna use but for males I don't know what I'm doing. All i want is a basic replacement of all the sims in game. My body don't have to be different. Any suggestions would be so helpful.

These things usually come in two flavors. Default replacers and non-default ones. Default replacers, as the name suggest, replace the EA defaults. Which is also why should only ever use one default replacer. Non-defaults are usually equipped in the same way as clothing etc and you need to actively select them if you want to use them.

So just pick what you like, find the default replacer version and drop it into your mod folder. Keep in mind that clothing doesnt magically transform into your new body (unless its a purely painted texture) and if for example a shirt is modeled on a bodytype A and you use bodytype B, the moment you equip the shirt, your sim will switch to the bodytype A, regardless of your defaults.

Yep I'm gonna go the basic replacer route as a start. You mentioned clothes is there a way to make close fit a replacer body for instance ? like in skyrim we had bodyslide to customise clothing is there something similar here ?

I wish we had bodyslide in sims. But the tech used is rather archaic in just about every aspect, at least to my mind. Regardless, the only morphing you get is whatever weights are painted into the mesh, so you either have to find someone making clothes for the shape you want to use (or a shape that is similar) or suspend your disbelief and disregard that your sim is losing 5 cup sizes every time you equip an EA made piece of clothing. Well, maybe thats just me, but you get my point.
