Weird, Striped Glitch

Recommended Posts

So some of my sims have a glitch covering their whole body, it’s like stripes going down the entire sim. Not all of them have it and a lot of them are wearing cc and some of the same cc between them, yet not all the others have the same glitch. How could I find what’s causing it? Or would it be in a file? Really, how can I fix this?

check your cc...…….could be hair......jewellery...…...make up...…...shoes....etc...…….remove one item at a time and see if that helps....I had something similar with a jomsims dress making my sims hair go all glittery.

Thanks, I’m hoping it’s not THAT hard, considering all my female sims don’t have it ?? but it could definitely be anything but not all their outfits are effected either, and it’s only like 4 sims, 1 in each household ?? this is not gonna be fun

just go to an affected sim in CAS and start removing items one at a time and see if the problem goes away.

If you do find the broken CC, there's a solution to fix it.  All the textures of the mod must have mipmaps generated, which can be done in s4pe

I'm having the same issue it seems to only affect my sim that's wearing  a summer outfit , it started with the june update and the island living expansion

The glitch doesn’t appear in CAS though, so I can’t tell if other outfit are affected unless I change the sim and go back and forth.

So I started looking into my sims and I found one issue on the first one, it also appears in the thumbnail

Open the problematic package file in

s4pe, there will be a list of resources like thums, cas, rle2. Right click the rle2 (texture) file and export to dds. Open the dds file with GIMP and then export the texture as Dtx5 with Generate mipmaps enabled.  Back in s4pe right click the rle2 files again  and import the corresponding dds files that have been newly given mipmaps. I did this with a CC tattoo that was causing the sim to appear beige, with the stripe glitch. You're going to need Gimp with the dds plugin and s4pe latest edition. Should be the first results in Google if you don't already have it.
