So, the first Evil Genius game had a fairly modest but well made modding community that made custom henchpersons, changed some stats around, threw balance out the window and then back in the window, made custom missions, things like that and more before the websites hosting them ceased support and fell into obscurity. The people who made the game were very supportive of their modding community and very nice people that even went onto the modding forums and occasionally praised their playerbase for their devotion and creativity-it was a pretty neat community (I only got to see the aftermath of it, I wasn't a participant) I was particularly fond of the mods that made it so you could run a casino and brainwash your enemies to your side. This game is loaded with potential for fun gameplay. Their sense of humor is spot-on, their aesthetic highlights lots of styles from the era, and the base building and trap design was all kinds of creative. I really want to bring attention to it to support the people making it, but also, an ulterior motive. (following post.)
HighTide Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 A game like this has loads of modding potential, I dabbled in playing with the stats of characters in the first one but I imagine a lot of fun can be had in this second one. In the first one you were able to capture basically anyone-even your own minions-and you could put them through interrogations on all manner of objects all throughout your base such as the centrifuge, greenhouse-of-carnivorous-plants, crushing bookshelf, fun things like that. Imagine some non-lethal interrogation methods ? Leading up to captures, you were able to tell everyone to run up and knock out an enemy, OR you could let them find your specially made Trap rooms that would have ever so many options for either maiming, dissorienting or knocking out the people snooping in them. Shark pits, a toothy plant, a box of NOT THE BEES... I imagine there's plenty of ways for those traps to exhaust the agent in other ways There were also a set of minions that you could train up to that would have gender-specific interactions with tourists and agents in order to distract and dissorient them. One mod from before made all of your minions female-I imagine there could be some fun to be had with a reskin of those minions as well as their particular interactions I'll be trying to see what I can do in this field as well. I am not even close to the animation ability I want to be at, but I do hope I'll be joined in the community. In the meantime, please, discuss...
