Darkening Demise Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I'm looking at those youtubers and wondering how cheap are those fancy things? Do I need anything else besides the microphone and the stand? I'm dirt poor so it can't cost anything above $40 and I'm searching on Amazon but there's these 'need soundcard' or 'amp required because condenser microphone' bullshit. I don't have a soundcard or anything fancy. Just a typical built PC with motherboard, ram, processor, graphics card, power supply, and hard drive. I'm just looking to boost the quality of my own youtube videos but ofc youtubers tend to not give a damn about any questions you ask them because they're all high and mighty no matter how few subscribers they have I guess. So I can't ask them for tips and stuff. After I buy a mic I'll save up for a decent camera and green screen.
RitualClarity Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Find any microphone that you can put toward your mouth.. do what you can with what you have.. if/ when money starts coming in you can upgrade to a better mic and boon (arm) and other equipment. Many that started have horrible sound for the first several videos.. then they improve. Take a look at Linus Tips and some of the stuff he did in NIX something when he was younger and starting out... Fuck the green screen.. just take the video facing a blank wall or something .. some You tube celebs have their stuff showing behind them. No green screen at all!
