I like most people have been using NMM to download and install mods. In the case of this site, I know where to download the mods and how to have NMM find and install them. But I was pretty much forced into using vortex a few days ago and am trying to learn it. I figured I would ask here since  this is the only site I use other than Nexus and hope someone will have an answer.

When I manually download a mod from this site, do I keep putting it in the Skyrim/data folder like with NMM or do I download them to the games/Skyrim folder I had to create for vortex?

And does anyone know how to add a manually downloaded mod into vortex for installation like NMM?

Hopefully someone has figured  this out and can help.

Thank you for your time and big thanks to all the people who make mods. Without mods, games like Skyrim (As great as they are) would not have been as popular as they still are after all these years. So thank you.

Ok, for anyone who may have the same questions in the future I just did a test install and think I have the answer. When doing a manual install and you want to use vortex, here are the steps (I am using windows 10):

01: once you choose manual installation, at the bottom you should see the file with an arrow next to it. Click that arrow to select download destination.

02: Download destination for me was d/games/skyrim

03: Start download

04: When it's finished, open vortex

05: on the left, scroll down to the mods spot and click it

06: toward the top left you should see install from file. Select that

07: Select the location you chose to download your file and go from there.

08: Once it's downloaded don't forget to choose enable.

Remember, the above instructions are only for vortex.

Thanks again to all the awesome modders who keep games so great
