New mods not working

Recommended Posts

So I haven't been on TS4 since early 2018, so some mods needed an update. I already have a lot of mods, and they all work (well most do), so I thought nothing of it. Download some new mods, put them in the folder, everything is fine. BUT, when I load the game, none of the mods I just installed work. They are on the CC list, in the folder (obviously), but they don't appear in-game. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Loading in a modded game you haven’t touched in several years can be a hornets nest.

first off what mods are you trying to get working?

Second question; what game version are you running? Did you do an update after you decided you want to play again? Lot has changed in three years.

Hell, they unlocked the option to make crossdressing and transgender sims and even that had issues when it came to CC. The menu in CAS includes a line “can this Sim use a toilet standing?”, which gets modded to the much more blunt “does this sim have a penis?”

that change is is enough to possibly break a mod. Script mods work by changing or replacing specific lines of code. The mod has to know which line of code to swap out with.

when they make a major change to the game code, a common result is that the line where that text is stored ends up getting moved and suddenly you have a code looking for that line, finding a code that controls the refrigerator door animation.

I meant to say 2018, I didn't notice the typo at first.

I do have the "Does this sim has a penis?" question on CAS.

The mods I downloaded were mostly just WickedWhims, animations, and Basemental drugs. I figured they would work just fine, but I guess I might need to download more DLC.

they should work fine then. what did you already have installed from the past? that could cause a break.

Okay I figured out the problem. Apparently, I had two versions of the game on my computer! So I deleted one, updated the other, and everything works fine...

Except the dicks are fucked up. They extend much farther than they should. It is not due to overlapping mods. I do not know what is going on.
