monsta88 Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Hi all, I had this issue sometimes in Oldrim as well. Suddenly, w/o any warning, my savetime went from 1 second to 25-30 seconds. It doesn't matter if Auto, Quick or Manual save. The console says it is still 0.044 seconds only to save, but I have to wait a loooooooong time before I get back the control. Spoiler My savegame is 10MB alltogether (8 MB SSE, 2 MB SKSE). I googled this for a while, buy couldn't find any solution that would work. Any idea how to fix this? Peace, M
King-Crimson Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Load order and error logs would be helpful. FIRST - Teleport yourself into the testarea "coc qasmoke" - Wait for 2 ingame days via resting - Idle for 5 real minutes - Save your game - Repeat process once and save again, then start bugfixing This will cause "zombie" threads and scripts to terminate cleanly and will also reset some cells. It will probably not fix your save time so continue with 1. 1) Download FallrimTools (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5031/) and first clean unattached instances and undefined elements (via the CLEAN option menu). Test if this fixed your problem before you continue. Keep the savegame created from this step as a clean save for any future step. 2) In Fallrim Tools, if 1 did not fix your problem, try to remove nonexistant form entries. But don't continue regular gameplay after this, many mods will break. If the last option helps reducing the save time, you probably have a mod that bloated your ingame forms. See 6) in this case. Fallrim Tools can help you finding the mods that create a lot of entries. You can filter the list in Fallrim Tools by any mod esp or by name. Test if this fixed your problem before you continue. If it does not, revert to the clean save of step 1. 3) There once was a very handy tool named Skyrim save cleaner (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31724). Most people dont use it anymore because its outdated any mostly obsoltete and i honestly have no idea if it even works with SE. But you can try it. You need to save your game via console by typing "save CLEAN 1" (the one at the end is important. This will create a full formlist report. Load this into the save cleaner and it will remove any form clutter. Test if this fixed your problem before you continue. If it does not, revert to the clean save of step 1. 4) There was reportedly a bug in Skyrim where a huge amount of save files in C:/Users/<YOU>/Documents/My Games/Skyrim/saves multiplied the save and load time for many people. Try to remove all savegames except for the most current, most important ones and the clean save from 1. 5) Disable any logging in MCM and disable papyrus logs in Syrim.ini/Skyrimprefs.ini (C:/Users/<YOU>/Documents/My Games/Skyrim). Beware that this will prevent any debugging in the future, so if you run into crash related problems in the future and want help from LL, be sure to enable them again. 6) Try to remove "the big mods" that change a lot of forms (weapons, armors, landscape changes, additional lands and quests). Repeat the testarea saving in the beginning and 1) after you delete some mods. However, Its probably not safe to continue your game after deleting many mods so please be careful. Always revert to the clean savegame from step 1 before trying to remove other mods. I'll post more if more comes to mind. Final thought: Loverslab could need some cleaning too, the time it takes to load is outrageous... ?
monsta88 Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Wow, that's a long answer, appreciate it! I fixed it in the meantime by installing SSE fixes. Now the savetime is back to 1 second. I will try the FIRST method on an other issue I have (unrelated to the save problem). Whenever I go near Eldersblood Peak, the game hangs. Not even CTD, just stops doing anything. I tried to coc there, I had the same effect. I had a similar issue if LE too, sometimes I couldn't enter Alftand and ignoring it for several ingame days always helped. Update: Unfortuntely, it didn't work, the game still hangs when entering the area. Thank you, M
