Oh that's good I have photoshop. Anything else?

Firstly, obtain  vagonumero13's super useful rdbtool:

use it to extract the texture file (some thing like :MPR_Muscle_Character_KASCOS010_a01_kidsalb.g1t) from MaterialEditor.rdb

If you can read Chinese, go back to the first page of this post, follow the link " Link Data Tool: for converting textures from .g1t to .dds " to get the tool to export the .dds file from the .g1t file. Otherwise use the English version attached.

You get a Chinese text told that dds is successfully exported or not, anyway, just check if a new folder has been created with the name of the file you drop. If yes, and you find a  file named: "00000_000000-DXT1.dds", then that is the file you should work on. When finished, export the dds with BC3/DTX5 format, and select "generate mipmaps" if you are using GIMP. Check the file size, it should be the same as the exported one, then import the folder back to g1t file, and test in game.

Normally, file end with "_kidsalb.g1t" is the texture, and "_kidsnmh.g1t" is the normal map.

GIMP does not work with DOA6's  textures. Only Photoshop.

If you need to mod with skin or costume, etc. Need plugin (.dds) for Photoshop. First cover (.g1t) to (.dds) and open with Photoshop and edit it. Then re-cover (.dds) to (.g1m) again.

Looks like you don't need Photoshop here is a link to a DDS plugin for GIMP:

This has already been discussed here more than once.

GIMP DOES NOT WORK WITH DOA6 TEXTURES!

ONLY PHOTOSHOP!

Not fully true. It depends on the format of the .dds. I unpacked the body textures of game 1.03 version files, and Gimp's 2003 dds plugin can open and edit them.

I do not rule out that you can change some files with the help of GIMP, but I had many cases when I tried to write dds for DOA6 with it and received a full mess. Photoshop works much more reliably.

Just swapped env files. I know this is not perfect.

Known issues

- the throwdown stage have not enough npcs. but they are function.

- the decals(?) are not changed. (snow, dirt)

- miyabi, hidden garden has orignal skybox. maybe need to retexture or replace with night version.

- maybe there are more glitches.

sorry for my bad english

Is this mod can be installed like REDELBE's mods that just extracts the mod in REDELBE folders or using other ways and other tools?

Ps. Problem solved.

Yes you can edit them, but editing them is useless if you can't inject them back into the game.
Which is exactly the case with Gimp, you can't inject DDS textures you edited from Gimp.

You need the Intel plug-in with photoshop, it's the only plug-in that has the proper compression settings.

Is Photoshop Elements OK?  Or full Photoshop?

Please, Can anyone upload screenshots of how to save the DDS textures of DOA6 with Photoshop and Intel plugin?

These are my settings when i need to save a DDS with BC7 compression, otherwise I use GIMP for DXT1 compression

Normal mods, normal Destructibles, and Breakable/Battle damage Nude Mods I have that are broken after v1.06. If your mod is not seen here, it either means your mods are ok or I never downloaded and/or used them.

Thank you gatto. Until now I had not been able to modify textures

Could you put the settings you use in GIMP for DXT1?

Let's start experimenting ?
