edx Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 What do you guys prefer and why? What are the strengths and weaknesses of both? I personally use ECE with racemenu overwriting, i do this for the functionality of racemenu and the extra sliders of ECE. I'd be interested to know what you guys use.

In the last few installs, Ive only ever used it until it broke badly enough to become infuriating. If I feel like using ECE again I'll just do it to make faces to export to .nif format, then just import them in Racemenu. Ok, here's some pros and cons for each ECE Pros: + Easy to use + best skeleton sliders + EECE + stop pose for overly fidgety idle animations +Vertex edit is very precise Cons: - More script heavy and less stable - no real options for men or beast races - Vertex edit is very stiff - Limited preset save slots - Limited interface controls Racemenu Pros: + Less script heavy and more stable + Overlays and warpaint plugins, as well as compatibility with plugins for XPMSE, DSR, and FNIS + nameable presets and head meshes and save as many as you want + Sculpt feature + Better more in-depth interface + more gender and race neutral, Including SOS and SAM plugin compatibility Cons: - Skeleton slider options are limited and difficult to use effectively - You start with vanilla face morphs so it is much more difficult to see results early - no undo history for sliders Honestly, I'm struggling to think of a lot of cons with Racemenu, but after two times of reinstalling Skyrim, I just stick with Racemenu. The nameable presets made it easy to remake my old characters.
unshatter Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I use racemenu because I'm lazy and I import presets from others and adjust a little afterwards. Racemenu loads the presets with the right features (lips, eyes, eyebrows, etc.) while ECE loads the feature in the Xth position. If you have Apachii, SG, KS hair mods, that's a couple hundred hairstyles already to try and find the right hair. Afterwards you have to do the same for lip colour, eye colour, eyebrows, etc. No thank you.
