PsychoMachina Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I have recently started using the latest Blender with the latest NIF plugin (nif plugin-2.6.0a0.dev4). I have a question, "What needs to be done so that I can export a NIF with transparency?" I know how to add NiAlphaProperty and edit key values using Nifskope, I'm hoping this can be done, if it can be done, in Blender while using the NIF plugin. TIA.
Vortec Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 Hey there. I am using Blender 2.79a, if this nif from or for Skyrim Se then it won't import. You can do one of two things, export from Outfit studio as an Object and Import to Blender or use Ousinuis Nif tool to switch it to an LE nif and import that way. As you said you know how to use Nifskope after exporting and use Outfit Studio to weight paint it.
PsychoMachina Posted February 16, 2019 Author Posted February 16, 2019 Hey Vortec. I'm porting an armor to Skyrim LE. I'm using Blender 2.7b and I have successfully exported the body (cuirass) with skeleton, weight paint, materials, etc and tested in my game. My question is for the stockings that have some transparency around the garters.
RohZima Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 You could just export with the settings that work and change the alpha in nifskope or in outfit studio
PsychoMachina Posted February 17, 2019 Author Posted February 17, 2019 Vortec and RohZima, thanks for responding. It looks like I'll continue using Nifskope to add the alpha properties, no problem with that.
