To all Armor Designers!

Have you ever come across a situation as follows?

You are playing as a female character, with awesome Armor from a mod, then you find or create an Armor that is even more Awesome and you pass on the first Armor to your MALE follower? It is really sad, that most Armors from Mods either only have a male or a female mesh. This is pretty much breaking the gameplay.

This is an attempt to suggest Armor Designers to ALWAYS make a male and a female version of any Armor. There are already some very AWESOME guys, who have thought about this, like these:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26443

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27680

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25846

Please take them as an inspiration and always think about making a second mesh for the other gender. So you'll make happy aproximately

the double amount of people.

You should also think about making 1st-person meshes of your armors.

Do you really think the "armor designers" will listen to you?

It`s up to them if their armors have a male version or not and with 1st person support or not!

And by the way...I know over hundred female armors that would look totally stupid on males so putting hours of effort into stupid looking guys just because YOU want it is ridiculous.

BTW² there are enough female followers to take with you. :D

Although it could be phrased better, I do have some sympathy with this plea.

Male armour is sadly neglected. That's why I do make my own conversions. My Female followers insist my male character look sexy too!

And I thought demand drives supply.

Only if you're paying for it. Are you?

Every modder's motivation is their own but *none* of them are paid for it. We do it because we want to' date=' and we release things *only* because we choose to.

I'm pretty chill and try to be as helpful to folks as possible, but your comment appears to reflect so fundamental an ignorance of what modding actually is, I really have to ask you, are you trying to be a dick?

Now, me, I'd say, if you or the OP wants to convert female armors to male (or vice versa) please do. Hell, I've even written tools that do much of the hard work for you.

Go grab the Transformation Lattice Maker and get cracking.

But don't think for a moment that economic demand has a damn thing to do with any of this. For that matter, don't ever think for a moment that demanding free stuff from folks who do this in their spare time without compensation will garner you anything other than scorn and derision from those same modders.

Ask me nicely, make requests, sure I'll do my best to help. Be a dick about it, well, you can expect to be told to go chase yourself.

In every free modding community, there is one cardinal rule that every downloader needs to remember. The modders are not there to serve you.

Demand and supplies may be the words you see in economics but that doesn't mean it has anything to do with today's economy or the market or stuff like that.

And yes you did say demand drives supply in different wordings.

You know what, demand from yourself is also demand. If you make what you need then you're supplying your own demand. I make stuff for myself too though most of those stuff are probably only needed by myself so I never publish them. They usually consist of fixes for bugs, tweaking the mods to my liking and so on. For example, I completely changed the sorting system in leveler's tower.

Oh well, I don't know how my words angered you even though there was no insult at all. But then you keep throwing harsh words at me. I find that a bit unfair to be honest but enough ranting about this for me.

And finally thank you for creating the tool "Transformation Lattice Maker".

I don't think anyone means anything personal here. The OP was obviously frustrated, but such is life. As was correctly pointed out by Gerra6 and others, mod makers make what "they" want. No one has any right or privilege to demand anything more from them.

That is why the OP's suggestion will never be well received. It is far too demanding in how it was worded (honey catches more flies than vinegar) and it was far too general. As was correctly stated, many armors do not have an equivalent for males and even if they did, it is up to the mod maker to decide if he or she wants to bother with them. If you don't like it, then politely request that particular mod maker to tackle that one armor you want. If they say no, then thank them for what they have done and either find someone else to tackle it or do it yourself.

Remember that folks do this stuff in their free time as a hobby to entertain themselves. Slapping them with quota's and other inane restrictions is a good way to have them throw up their hands and walk away.

Gregathit' date=' posts like that are why I wish this site had a "like" button.

Also, vinegar catches more fruit flies than honey.

Yep maybe request is a better word than demand. And maybe add some words to indicate that this is entirely optional for modders to decide whether to help or not and finally show some appreciation to whoever is reading or willing to help. Psychology
