A Tale of Woe and Sorro (Archive Invalidated)

Alright, I am hoping that the creative genius of all those who dwell here might be able to help me.

Here is the issue plain and simple. I cannot enable Archive Invalidation. I use oblivion mod manager and I tell it to do a BSA redirection. No changes in the game. Before I go further, right now the biggest issue is that I have installed the HGEC body and a few custom race mods, that's it. I know that they are installed correctly. But in game my character is still wearing the default body equipped with underwear when she is nude. So I go back to OBMM and tell it to do a Universal and a BSA invalidation. Both kick back with an error message that says,"Empty path name is not legal." So I try a BSA Alteration checking the Texture and Meshes for types of files to include in the alteration. Well that gets me something in game at least. Now the character does have the nude HGEC body but there are no textures for the body or I should say that there are but not what they are supposed to be. My character is a Dark Elf with a blue tinted skin and right now her whole body looks like it has been sculpted from blue clay. There are no defining features like textures around the nipples or the groin. So rounded out my options for using Oblivion Mod Manager to handle the Archive Invalidation. Now I turn to the internet and found the ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated mod (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/10724) and I use it. I used the auto install version of it then ran the game and crossed my fingers. Nothing. No change. Actually one change, now my character has gone back to wearing the default body. A step backward if you will. So I check the read me for the mod and I make sure that all the files that were to be altered were done correctly and that the files were put in the right place. Everything is right. Well if everything is right then how can everything be so wrong. I have wracked my brain trying to figure out why I can't invalidate the archives or whatnot so that the game will read mods. Imagine my sorrow as I realized that if I can't fix this then virtually all mods will not work with my game!!! If it helps I will mention that I am running a Steam version of the game. HELP! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THIS WORLD HELP!!

An update. So I fiddled around some more and found that some of the races aren't showing textures on their bodies at all and some are but it's like the textures aren't quite there. I'll add a screenshot for ya all and maybe that will help identify whats wrong.

The mod you installed (archive invalidated) is extremely old and not the way to go about things today.

BSA redirection via OBMM is the way to go. Now having said that, it is not a magic tool either. The dark elf you installed is likely an MBP one and they are not HGEC compatible textures. You have to manually go in and change those suckers to a compatible texture.

I can't really give you any guidance or direction without knowing what you have installed - which is why the stickied post at the top of this forum asks you to post your load order along with a description of the problem: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=13742

One thing you can do is open your oblivion.ini (the one in your my documents folder where your saved games are) and change bFaceGenTexturing=0 (this will make the face match the body texture a bit better).

Ok, well, this would not be the first that this happened but... I am an idiot. Well maybe a genius, I don't know. This morning I had the bright idea that since I really don't have many mods installed it wouldn't be too hard to just simply delete everything and start over fresh. Loe and behold this time it magically worked. So some how when I first installed these mods I did something to royally screw myself and that's why nothing worked. Kudos to you, gregathit. I will give you credit for the creative genius that struck me.
