There any mod like this that isn't completely ...impossible to play with? Really, what's the point if a visual effect is applied that makes the screen look like the author's idea of a crazy acid trip? Took me a little while to figure out which mod was totally making the game impossible to play but finally figured it out. At most such effects should last a few minutes or an hour,  but after waiting 4 game days I still couldn't see shit. No thanks.

I like the idea but this  is not conductive to being able to play at all. Better with effects that would effect the player in other ways so they can at least move around in the world and do something about their addiction, like dropping their sword every time they get in a fight or instead of conjuring a flame astronach they conjure a fluffly little bunny.  Maybe not even that, one does need to fight in this game no matter what is effecting them. More like the vanilla prison system and skills deteriorate.  Lose xp levels. Lose max health/stamina/magica.

Operate with debuffs to said skills/traits. Maybe occasionally dropping the sword or conjuring a bunny.

But to remove vision from what is a visual game?

So far I haven't found any other mod, though. I like the concept, just not the way this one does it.

You can easily disable the visual effects in the MCM.

I found that, thanks. But still wondering why even bother? The mod does nothing but debuff your character. There are no quests. There is no action to take to reduce addiction. I don't know, I just don't see any point to having it.

It is an immersion type mod. Like iNeed if you don't eat then you get debuffs. If you abuse drugs then you get debuffed, you lose your addiction over time. You can become addicted and be part of a brothel sorta place where you work for your fix.

Yea, I get that but in the end, just doesn't work for me. I don't like need mods, what do I need to waste my precious play time with eating drinking and worrying about clothing (frostfall).  I like the idea but not the implementation. What comes to my mind is how NPCs interact with the PC, such as not allowing an addict into the College of Winterhold or join the Companions or the Dark Brotherhood. Of being abused more often since no one gives a shit what happens to a drug addict. Things along those lines. Not just some debuffs.

This mod literally does this. Addicted and try to stay in an Inn? Nope. Guards treat you different because you are addicted. There is a brothel built in that allows you to work for drugs and some coin. You complain a lot for someone putting zero work into finding out what a mod actually does.

Not sure why but this mod causes a CTD everytime I try to access a Den...even with the new facegen data uploaded...I am running the most recent updated copies of everything and wondering if there is a chance this mod might get updated to a working state? I'm not using any mods that alter those locations either. Odd that it seems to work for some and I myself was able to get it working once (on an older Skrim SE build), but it seems to be incredibly unstable...wish I could use it but have no choice but to deactivate....

FOR THOSE STRUGGLING TO GET THIS MOD TO WORK, THE FIX FILES DO WORK BUT YOU NEED TO MANUALLY INSTALL THEM (THE MOD PACKAGE COULD OF COURSE BE FIXED AND RE-ZIPPED)...BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE MOD'S FILES MUST BE INSTALLED INTO THE "FACEGEOM" FOLDER, NOT THE "FACE GEOM" FOLDER WHICH IS AN INVALID FOLDER...there should be no space in the folder's name...runs right as rain now

Good catch, thanks.

This is probably outside the scope of the conversion, but I'm running Skyrim VR and CTD'ing when consuming regular 'Skooma' with the mod installed.

I imagine this is because it's triggering an animation or visual effect that's not compatible with the VR version, but thought I'd mention in case anyone else has encountered and resolved. Certainly works when others, through Sexlab, force the PC to consume regular Skooma.

Thanks again for the amazing work.

I spent a lot of time testing this because I didn't want to be wrong but I'm 99% sure this mod is the cause of crashes now. I've been unable to find the source though. Crash logs are pointing me towards facegen data but that seems to be fine. The mod comes with TGA files from LE but they are not used, they are just leftovers. If you want to test it you can install the mod then coc WhiterunDragonsreachBasement from main menu. You should crash after loading is done. This version has been working for me, no crashes.

Found a remedy for the CTDs everyone has been having. And yes, as @Scholarly Badger has stated, it does have to do with the face meshes. The fix is simple.

Go and open the plugin in CK, find all the actors added by the mod and select them, and then press Ctrl+F4 to export the facegen data. You may have to do it 5 or so at a time so as not to completely freeze the CK. There is no need to re-save the plugin.

Dude!, thanks so much!. Worked like a charm!!

Hello! I'm wondering, did you eventually come up with a fix for this issue? I'm having the same problem, not just with skooma, but with all the SW-related potions. It is intermittent. On some mod-builds it happens always, on some it happens occasionally, and on some never. I haven't been able to figure out the pattern, yet. I also suspect animations could be the issue, but no luck yet. Any tips?

Not sure if this is still being worked on but if it is, would it be possible to make a patch so the NPCs in the dens are interactable?

There's

Combined with Babo dialogue makes for some interesting situations in these dens.. it makes numerous npcs approach you for dialogue.. however the npcs in the dens have no interaction prompt.. so the conversations can't be progressed after the initial greeting.

It doesn't seem like the skooma effects are working either.  I had an effect happen when another npc forced taking some but if I just pop a bottle it doesnt seem to do any visuals. Not sure if it's due to ENB but that wasn't an issue when I played in Oldrim. Could it be CACO?
