hexjeans Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 This game is Gta V. I think that my character is beautiful and I get excited by the scenes of violence against him. I want to be in his place. ._.
MinamiTakahashi Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Masochism (sexual or not) is fairly common among adults. So yeah I'd say it's normal.
squares Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Masochism is not normal. There is a reason those things called deviations (from normal behavior), you know... As long as you don't hurt yourself or others, you have little to worry about. Also "normal" is not a constant. It changes with time, place, culture, etc.
Just Checking Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I'd probably recommend against putting yourself in most of the situations in your video, if for no other reason than the whole... you know, death thing. That said, consider the website you're posting on. It caters to some pretty far out fetishes, including sexualized violence and killing. I've also seen those things on other sites, sometimes people commission artists to draw their original characters being hurt or killed. You're hardly alone in that regard. I'd still say it's not exactly "normal" since the good majority of people don't share that fetish, but it's also not cause for concern as long as it stays in the realm of fantasy. The only reason you should be worried is if, for whatever reason, you feel compelled to create a potentially dangerous situation for yourself or others in reality.
weirn Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 It might actually be sadomasochism. Considering that you both want to be in his place and that seeing him/placing him in these kinds of situations excites you. This fetish on it's own can be normal however when you desire to be in situations such as this there can be a problem. So long as you don't put yourself in such situations and you keep situations such as what happens in GTA as strictly a fantasy that you should not pursue you are fine. I'm certain the BDSM community and what it provides could satisfy what you are looking for so long as it's considered "safe". The sado/masochistic members of the community argue about what is safe so I can't say what the limitations are other than grievous bodily harm and the like are a nogo for obvious reasons. I could be wrong and it's just masochism either way it's not an unusual fetish if that's what your asking.
Lexi SubZero Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 By all means..go for it. Just tell us where to send a post mortem darwin award... ?

Thirdly, I do not like the death itself in these videos, I like to observe dominance and his death poses. It seems to me that this is not the same sadomasochism. ._.

It seems to me that this is not the same sadomasochism. ._. Ok first to clarify bdsm is not all about leather and lace there is a lot to it than that so much so I couldn't explain it. How popular media, this includes porn, shows bdsm as is not a correct interpretation of it as a whole it's really more of a stereotype. Secondly there is not a whole lot of context of why you like it. You just telling a bunch of strangers that you like what is happening in the video without telling us what about it you like other than your character is handsome to you, you get excited by the scenes of violence, you want to be in his place, and you not into death. Overall you seem to have a humiliation fetish of some kind which is considered to be a form of masochism. Though the reality is I or anyone else can't tell you what your into, because we don't know what you like. It's something you have to explore yourself. All we can do is call it as we see it. This may not be the answer you're looking for, but it's the best I got for you. You just have to do some soul searching or something, because the answer you're looking for is unfortunately not here. So, I do hope you do find an answer you are satisfied with in the future, because I don't have one Mike.

It seems to me that this is not the same sadomasochism. ._. Sadism is defined as deriving pleasure, often sexual pleasure, from the inflicting of pain, suffering or humiliation on others. Masochism is the reverse, deriving pleasure from those things being inflicted on oneself. I'd say after your initial post it was a fair assumption. It could still be, honestly, but now it almost sounds more like you're into classical artworks, paintings of Greek gods splayed out luxuriously or heroes laying mortally wounded in dramatic positions. If you want to test this one, maybe do a google image search of "Death of Patroclus". That should give you a bunch of those styles of old paintings and stuff. This one might sound really dumb, but I did read a thing a while ago about how there's a fetish where people are excited by watching others fall down stairs or falling down stairs themselves. It might be a bit of a reach, but maybe there's some level of connection there. You like seeing this character get beat down and end up laid out on the floor. Kind of like a person falling down stairs. Still sounds a little sadistic to me, but yeah, who even knows what you'd actually call it. Bottom line is I don't think you need to be too concerned about your personal fetishes if they're not hurting anyone.

Pretentious was basically a requirement. I just picked them because they were usually very dramatic poses. Maybe a little too dramatic.
FauxFurry Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 It is normal enough. Very mainstream as far as kinks go since it involves violence and no female bodies or overt sexualization in any capacity (Goodness forbid). It might even be considered quasi-Family Friendly, more of a PG to PG-13 fetish than anything else. On the other hand, for those who are obsessed with suppressing any and all forms of sexuality in media would find sado-masochism supremely frustrating to deal with as it makes it impossible to make anything completely 'wholesome'. I find that incredibly hilarious, perhaps due to some soft form of sadism for anyone who tries to deny others their joy for some reason which itself could be the product of sadism on their part.

Interesting idea. But maybe this is different than masochism?
