hogsmaws Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I'm in the process of packing a BSA and was wondering if someone can elaborate on the compression. by default its at 10 (max) I know that file size will be smaller but does that affect anything else besides just the size? does the game have to take longer to uncompress the BSA when its being used?
RohZima Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I thought it was quicker for the game when it's in bsa format
hogsmaws Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 there's diff ways to make BSA files, one is thru CK which doesn't give you an option for compression rate (i think) but BSAopt lets you choose between 0 - 10 rate of compression. so i'm just trying to see if anyone knows that if someone picked rate 0 (no compression) will the game run that mod faster? I know it will take up more disk space but just trying to see how it works. logically i'd have to say that is that case, less compress = faster but more space.
