lambient1988 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Hello, I use the Skyrim SCO Summer Edition mod by AceQ. It's a old mod but works really great. However, the problem is that when using dense grass of iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure = 20 iMinGrassSize = 20 The FPS drops down to 30. Even though the processor is being used only 60% and both the 1060 I run in SLI are being use 60% as well. So I am not low on resources. Just that there is too much grass in one place. I would like to know what grass mods you are using for dense grass fields with little to no performance loss.
Grey Cloud Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Have we had this conversation before? I use SCO Summer Edition and love it. I also have issues with grass. The main problem I have is with the clover type such as found, e.g. on Whiterun plains. This absolutely hammers my game with laaaaaaaaag. The best workaround I have found so far involves changing the ini setting to remove the 'blowing in the wind' (can't remember which ini or the proper name of the effect) effect and using Short Grass https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/87782/ and optimized textures for JD's Short Grass mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/87887 Edit: Noticed last night that I also have Grass on Steroids installed. I can't remember when I put that in and I haven't noticed any great change in-game.

Will also check out the if there is any performance improvement if I remove grass being affected by winds.
Grey Cloud Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 A good place to check things is just outside Solitude on the road to Dragon Bridge. The path down to the stormie camp is the clover stuff, while up the hill (turn right off the road) is where there would normally be snow so there is less grass.
