Plattonterror Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 So after getting a new rig with Windows 10 operating system i decided to mod oblivion from the start I own GOTY deluxe edition on steam and found out that the Unofficial patches are not working However i run into issues after the initial logo starts i the game freezes on loading So here is the situation so far and what i have tried 1) Deleted oblivion.ini (didn't work) and i downloaded a pre-optimized ini witch worked for some people (not for me) 2) The game is outside from x86 folder on a second hardrive (dont wanna bother my SSD with oblivion) 3) Tested tes iv patch for possible issues with mods (none found 4) tried a d3d9.dll to bypass directx 9c runtime 5) tried to run oblivion without any mods while following the above procedures as i am at my wits end any advice would be more than welcome Thanks in advance for your attention Updated: One of my friends owns a cd copy of the game so we installed it on my rig tried to run without mods it worked fine then we put the mods and plugins/dlc list for my loar order and again the cd version managed to play . However the steam version of the game is still going at it. I think it must be something related to steam
fejeena Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Do you have all Master files for the Mods? Do you use a Mod that needs OBSE and you do not have OBSE? Have you checked my yellow Link below about OBSE and Steam ? And the old directX files,.... I use a CD version and can not help with steam problems.
Plattonterror Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 I doubled checked everything and decided to re install the game today while activating the mods one at a time to see where it went wrong apparently it was the unofficial patches that caused the issue not sure why tho so i guess its safe to say that my problem is fixed
Sladen2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Sounds like a load order problem. The unofficial patches are not the cause, unless they were somehow sorted very incorrectly, or if you are using a mod that is so radically differnt, that using it alongside the unoffical patches is causing your issue. Use BOSS to sort your mods. Do not use Loot for Oblivion. Do not use NMM for Oblivion.
fejeena Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 If he only have Oblivion with dlc s and then install the unofficial patches , they are all in my example load order in my yellow Link. And yes, if the the game works with the dlc s then it will also work with the unofficial patches. But DLCs and Patches in the right order.
