Do animators use sound effects from all Expansion Packs?

An interesting question!

My guess is that new sounds are maybe added by the patch rather than the expansion,

After all, some things like vampire walk etc were discovered in the code a few months before release

But new expansions have new features hence new sounds?

Yeah that's right! The list of sounds does get updated as ive got sounds from the newer packs and not just base game,

Thing is that if I'm using them in my work and you don't have a the relevant DLC, the sounds won't play or maybe even a conflict of some kind would occur,

When the game is patched, it's probably being given the stuff that s4pe and s4studio needs at the same time which will lay dormant in the code until activated by the dlc which is containing the assets they need,

I'm only speculating of course but I'm pretty sure I'm using dlc sounds already like from Romantic Garden ep etc and I hope people would've reported if sounds are missing,

I'm guessing that VFX will also work in the same manner and if this is the case, you'd have to own vampires ep to see the effects in Mike24 latest animations, it'll be interesting when that goes public as we'll be able to see if it works for everyone or if it requires the dlc to be seen

How can they report it if they don't know how it's supposed to sound like? :D Maybe some animations have missing sounds for me since I only have a base game, Get To Work and Get Together but since they sound fine for the MOST part, I would have no idea if there are any sounds missing or not.

interesting question. I think i mostly use vanilla sounds. But i do use from other packs too to get more fitting sounds for some stuff. Hard to say. Would be interesting to make a test file with only sounds from a DLC to see if you can hear them or not.

Most short animations may only contain one or two sounds, if both sounds came from dlc someone who does not have it may have commented or suggested it, people are generally far quicker to comment on things that are missing ?

Sound resources added with a DLC are stored in the DLC's package files, if you don't have the DLC installed the sounds won't play.

VFX is different, here everything added is stored in one big resource in the base game files, so vampire effects should play even if you don't have the pack installed.
