Kicked out of game, cannot load

Just FYI, this has has happened to me a number of times.  I don't get an error (yet), but when I exit to main menu and load again, it just takes me to the world screen.  I can't actually get back into the game.  If I load an earlier game, then I get the error message. 

 

I think it has to do with existing to main menu while a sim is hypnotized with black widow.   Here's the exception:

Just fyi, here's how I "recovered".  I removed Nina's etc. and Basemental Drugs.  Loaded the game successfully, and then put those mods back and loaded again.   Of course, a lot of stuff has changed and items/traits have disappeared because of the switcheroo, but nothing I can't recover with some cheats.  

 

EDIT 2:  Never mind.  It's screwed.  As soon as I put back a trait, the game stopped letting me load a sim again.  Well... back to a previous save, I guess.

The clue is there......Wicked perversions and basemental drugs need updating.
