Start in an existing household?

I'd like to be able to insert a starting sim in a preexisting household.

I would start a new game, select a house and make my sim in that family. Does such a mod exist?

I don't think I'm being understood.

I want to be able to:  1. press the "Start New Game" option. 2. select a household that already has people in it. 3. Create a sim as part of that house hold.

For example: I would be able to start a game as the genetic son of Straud. Rather than having to create a different sim in a different lot and abandon them.

I think...This might work.

Start a new game.  Just take whatever game offers, hit dice to randomize the name and move that sim into a lot.  Forget they exist or delete them.  (All that was to create a playable save)

Go to manage worlds.  Select the family you are talking about.  Hit the heart to move them into playable households (the front page of Manage World).  Edit the household.  Select new sim, play with Genetics.  Create your sim.  Exit Play with Genetics.  Enure the Relationship settings are correct.  Play.

I hope this works (I have never done this myself but it should be possible from what I understand of the game).  Actually I have done it before as far as inserting a premade sim into an existing family.

Manage Households->Other Households->scroll down until you find Straud->edit (the icon which looks like a pencil)->Play with genetics, create a son for him->"Play" icon

Tadah!

I understand that both of you are trying to help. What you're describing works. It's what I've been doing. However, I'm looking for a different option. This is specifically what I don't want to do.

I'm confused what you are trying to do, if what was suggested isn't right?  Or are you trying to say you want to bypass entering codes?  If so, there are mods that can do that.  I don't know what they are since I just enter my codes every time. lol :P
