Nohrin Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 I asked this on Reddit as well, but I often get much better advice from you guys (thanks for that, by the way). I have edited an armor mod to have a different armorslot, and I read that unless I attach a reference body to the outfit, my characters body will be invisible. So I did that. I attached a reference body to my edited outfit. However, I notice that .tri files that morph the outfit, are not changing the shape of my characters assets, and only the outfit itself. Is there anyway to get the .tri files to effect the reference body that is attached to the outfit as well? If not, would there be anyway to edit my outfits armorslot without requiring a reference body? I have already been through Tes5Edit and changed the armorslot value from 46 (what it was originally) to 32 (which is used for chest pieces).
y_sengaku Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 You have to re-generate .tri file of the outfit for the outfit itself AND the reference body in OS together by importing .tri file of your reference body, I suppose.

How do I import the .tri file into OS? I had thought of something similar, but saw no .tri file options in the Outfit Studio. I found out how to import .tri files. I imported my reference bodies .tri file into my outfit + reference body in OS and exported to a .NIF with reference. The mesh appears to be my 100 weight. How do I lower my weight to 0 in OS so I can export my _0 weight mesh?
y_sengaku Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Sorry, I forgot to mention that .tri file import/ export option seem to be removed from the latest OS (v 4.6.2). I still cling to v 4.6.0 (v 4.6.1 also seems to be OK) since I can't find good tutorial for .tri handling in the latest version.

I'm stuck on what to do after though. I imported the .tri file onto my Outfit + Reference body, and exported to a .Nif but I have no clue how to get a _0 weight version. I logged in game to see what kind of effect it had, and my entire body was invisible. I either did something wrong, or I require a _0 weight version.
y_sengaku Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 I'm not sure whether to answer your question is beyond my knowledge. You probably have to wait for someone more knowledgeful for this issue. Don't you have both [outfit]_0.nif and [outfit]_1.nif as well as [body]_0.nif and [body]_1.nif beforehand? As for [UUNP outfit] thing, your body outfit mesh (slot 32) need it, however, I'm sure for that (Just check the vanilla armor. Most of them with some exposed skin part have such body_outfit NiTrishape submesh).

So basically I just apply my reference bodies .tri file to my [outfit]_0.nif and [outfit]_1.nif and export as a regular .Nif without reference? Honestly bodyslide is very confusing to me. I don't blame you for struggling to answer my questions. Would you happen to know of a way to avoid having to add a reference body to an outfit to begin with? Like I can examine other mod creators outfits, and there is often no reference body attached, and they don't make my character invisible.

As for your 'invisibility' problem, how it looks in the game is mainly defined by the outfit .esp's armor add-on (looks) as well as armor slot. Your character has to have at least one 'armor' (including nude skin: slot 32) that have the main body part in armor add-on slot 32 not to be invisible. Generally speaking, all the armor occupying the armor slot 32 unless full-covered ones should have a reference body, https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=ArmorAddon I'd recommend you to try to tweak your armor mod without touching .tri file at all at first, then finally tweak the .tri file for morphing in game.
