The problem has been noted also on S4S forum but apparetly no one proposed a solution so far. Turbo pointed me in the right direction, all I needed was the correct bone framework. After that I managed to get the mesh to work by importing it into one of Simdulgence mod. Not sure if I want or can share it though since I'm using an amalgamation of several people's mods.
