Meta Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I recently updated my computer, reinstalled oblivion and the mods I wanted. However, for some reason oblivion crashes to desktop at the first splash screen - whether I have the mods active or not. I think I would need to reinstall everything, but I would like to see what you guys think. Also, I am using the Oblivion game of the year edition from steam. I'm not sure if this is because I edited the animation files (used Growlf's skeleton and BBB), installed the files in the wrong order, or if I'm missing a required file somewhere. They should be installed correctly though as I have installed them in the same order as my last install, which worked. I appreciate the help. OBMM or Wyrebash can tell you which one is missing.
HanPL Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Remove oblivion INI. My games > Oblivion > Ini. Then launch the game. If it will still crash : Launch Oblivion Mod Manager > New Conflict Detector and it will show you up missing masters.
Meta Posted September 18, 2011 Author Posted September 18, 2011 Thank you for the help, Jerbs and Han. The trick about deleting the INI folder fixed the crashing.
