terrorofmorrowind Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Yes, i know another one of these...*sigh* I'm generally having no issues with ny other npc's ingame but only a couple of them have this weird discoloration bug. I know that i need to use ctrl+F4 in ck until i realized that same grey face also appeared in ck! Can smeone tell me what this means?

The only time I've seen this was when I wanted to fix npcs in the Immersive Wenches mod. The problem was that there were multiple forms for the same npcs, and the ones I was trying to fix were placeholder npcs instead the template npcs with the face data. When you open an npc form you will see the Template Data in the lower left corner. If it uses a template it will be listed in ActorBase. The template npc is the one you want to fix.

The actors that i'm tryong to fix are the ones from sexy bandit captives mod. Which means they don't have any template actor at all because they are all unique. But thanks for confirming that both work very differently. Also i forgot to mention that i rename tintmasks temprorarily to smething else to let it not mess up the exported .dds files. This helped in the past but so it doesn't seem to work anymore. Curently i'm trying out the ctr+f4 way again (currently done everyone except the nords and woodelves of the mod) but this time i will temporarely remove everything in the tintmask folder of the mod, then save, then check in game if it has an effect, if it has i will remove the .dds files forever, if it doesn't, i'll put those generated files in it's repsective folders and check again. If it then doesn't work...well, disabling it and taking it out of the load order until i make a brand new clean save...If THAT doesn't work well...

Perhaps to save yourself some trouble you can temporarily move the tintmasks folder out onto your desktop before launching the CK, and move it back after you've closed the CK. Might be a bit less tedious than renaming it every time. Â As well, the ctl f4 function will not work if you have something typed into the Filter.

I did that already by renaming the tintmasks to tintmaskss so that the ck wouldn't find it. I didn't remove the file outside of the folder but it works the same. Still no dice... Â edit: Ok, yeah.Nothing of what i listed before worked. I've disabled ( I didn't remove it!) in the left panel of mod organizer and removd the mod entirely from my saves. I've had enough of it for now and btw since i use immersive wenches as well i don't really need it that much anymore. Still odd though it used to work before i started using Mod organier and smash patches.
yatol Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 there's no "grey face bug" in crap kit...  npc have headpart femaleheadnord if in the nif, there's no mesh femaleheadnord (npc replacer nif overwrite by a mod that edit that npc in the load order or something) the game won't load that nif, but generate the npc head from the load order, with headpart femaleheadnord textureset it's much slower than loading a head nif, so the game don't add the npc tintmask to femaleheadnord textureset, that way you can see there's something to fix  no idea what you call grey face bug in crap kit since there's no screen of whatever you are talking about if you load crap kit with 2k tintmask, or have run texture optimiser on them, crap kit won't load them, it only want uncompressed 512*512 don't remember seeing grey face npc with that, was just getting tintmask with a red bar above the eyes   Â
RW311 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Probably a makeup texture, one of the dirt overlays will make head look grey with the right tint applied. Just go to the area where you edit the head texture and makeup and scroll to the dirt overlays and set them all to not apply any tint, also check what head texture is applied as the middle age one will sometimes make head look wierd with custom head textures installed.
terrorofmorrowind Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 I've made sure the only mod that edits those parts is demoniac in the data part where you can also find your load order in MO. I also reinstalled caliente but put it higher in the left pane to make demoniac overwrite those files. It seems to have worked for prettier bandits but i haven't checked in ck yet.

Middle age one? you mean those 40 and 50 textures?
RW311 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Yup, can't remember the exact names but one of them with my texture setup makes the npc face look very pale and some dirt overlay looks almost exactly like grey face with the right base skin color.
