Couple of SexLab questions if anybody's got a minute . . .

I've been using the SexLab Framework for awhile now, and it works great.  I had nooooo idea how much fun you guys were having, but I'm learning some things!

But I can't figure out some of this stuff . . .

(1)  Are the nude bodies the SexLab offers included?  Or are we supposed to add them someplace.  I have mildly customized male and female bodies added to my game, but I'd like to use different body meshes for sex.  (Right now, all of the men in my Skyrim are running around with hard-ons, just so I can enjoy the sex animations.)  I'm not looking for one of the fancy mods that give men remote-control dicks or anything like that.  I'd just like to use one body for the everyday dragon killing and another body for sex.

(2)  During the sex animations, are we supposed to see the cursor target??  I do not.  Which is good, I think.  But I'm wanting to try the hotkeys to adjust the body positions during sex, and I can't get anything to happen.  The hotkeys for switching to a different animation or rotating the animation and others like that work just fine.  But when I click [N] to select a character for a move him a little up or down or such, nothing happens.  What an I supposed to be seeing?

(3)  Finally, . . . sometimes, when moving the freefly cam around to watch an animation, I accidentally click a key that leaves me stuck in the 3rd-person camera (I think).  I can find no way out.  Even if I save the game, exit to the desktop, and reopen the game, I'm still stuck.  Is there a fix for this?  I try to remember to save right before every romp, but I forget half the time.

All feedback is welcome, no fooling.  Thanks for reading.

1) SOS slongs

Yes it has remote control dicks that get hard when a Sexlab animation is playing and yes that's essentially what most people use for Sexlab.

Its easy to install.  It does a lot more such as ah random distribution of size and shape.  Thing is if you the player strip all the belongings off a corpse well it doesn't leave behind a dead guy with a hard on.

2) I don't think N key is the key to make a character move... You can of course change the keys....

Defaults are I think  k l ; '

But these are of course easy to find in the Sexlab MCM menu.

N key is only useful for controlling a character when the player is not involved in Sex Animation....I think the key to cycle through actors is K....There are a whole heck of lot more keys but I don't have them all in my head at the moment.

3) Using a workbench such as an Alchemy Table, Enchanter, Blacksmith tends to correct this issue because using those items fires of a script that changes the camera and then when finished another script fires off to reset camera control to default state.  This will or should even correct camera states in save games.

1. SOS is probably the best option for nude bodies, especially male, though Shape Atlas Man SAM might work. There are a variety of bodies for females (UNP, CBBE etc) depending on how you want your curves and which armor mods you want to support.  I don't use it but I remember reading that you can enable bodies for Sexlab to use, and if you're asking that, I think those are included as well and can be replaced by other bodies you wish to copy into the correct folders.

2 You're not usually supposed to see the cursor, but things can interfere with the camera and it and the rest of the HUD may become visible. If you open the console you can use TM to togglemenus as long as you remember to close the console so the game can continue, and when you open the console remember you won't see anything until you type TM again and hit enter.  As GamePlayer mentioned, N is usually for selecting an NPC while the player is out of an animation. While in a scene you'll typically not be able to point at, much less select, another NPC.  Double check the key settings in the Sexlab MCM as mentioned and try them all out.

3 might not be the result of hitting something while in an anim. The Skyrim camera can be a little finicky and fragile and will sometimes get stuck not letting you zoom in and out or rotate.. I've looked up the IDs for a chair and workbench as in the console you can use "player.placeatme (code)" and spawn in something to use to reset the camera.  If you wish, just open the console when the camera works again, select what you spawned and "disable" and "markfordelete" ... or just leave it there for the local NPCs to use.  There are a variety of other camera console commands to use, but using something to change the camera and revert it seems to work the best.  (Werewolf or vampire lord shape change does also sometimes work.)

About the stuck camera:

Your suggestions that I try using one of the workbenches to get the game to reset the player camera just made my day.  :)  You guys have saved me a boatload of time having to replay stuff when I have to go back to the previous Save.  Thank you so much.

About the male bodies:

I'm probably the only guy left playing Skyrim who doesn't use either the SOS body or the SAM body.  I've tried them both.  Several times.  The pix I see posted usually make these bodies look really good.  But when I try it myself? . . . well, the bodies just look off.  The swooping back and the wide, wide, wide thighs make those men look a little like women and a little like aliens.  <lol>  When I first saw this shape used for the Favored Soul bodies, I thought that maybe the distortions were needed for the sex animations.  Shows what I know.  And, just to make sure I'm not giving anybody the wrong idea, . . . I think the quality of the meshes made for these bodies is really excellent.  I'd love to have a body for my guy of that quality--hi-poly, beautifully mapped, perfect seams--the workmanship is a joy to see.  And, for sure, I'd really like to have all of the features found in the SOS and SAM bodies.  My little fantasy is that somebody will rig a Sundracon body to work like the SOS body.  :)

About my problem with a male body for SexLab:

When I select to use a nude male body (in SexLab's MCM menu), I don't get a nude male body.  I don't get anything.  The men have heads and hands, but no bodies.  I thought that might mean that I need to *tell* SexLab where to get the body I want used.  I also looked in the SexLab files (the ones that I could open), and I didn't find any bodies for the men or women.  One of the reasons I'd like to do this is so that all of the naked dead guys in Skyrim don't have hard-ons.

About cursors and N keys:

Great to know that I'm not supposed to see the cursor during the SexLab animations, because I don't.  And certainly don't want to, either.  And you say that "N" is the SexLab hotkey used to select an NPC outside of an animation?  I'd been wondering about that; will test it shortly.  So, . . . when you want to use the SexLab hotkeys to adjust the positions of the characters in a sex animation, how do you select the character you want to adjust??  When reading the MCM menu info, it sounded like I was supposed to click N first, then use another key to switch among the characters 'til I got the one I wanted.  How do you guys do this??

THANK YOU.

So, . . . when you want to use the SexLab hotkeys to adjust the positions of the characters in a sex animation, how do you select the character you want to adjust??

Post a screenshot and we could see if there is something visually obvious.

I think that Sexlab starts with the player, might start with position 1, I don't remember/know. There is a separate hotkey to select the actor to cycle through everyone involved in an anim and the name of who is selected should show up in the upper left (unless you have a UI mod that moves the notification area).  It can take a bit to cycle through actors, move, re-adjust and then pick the next one so generally everyone says to turn off the auto-advance stages feature of Sexlab.

Sorry I'm not being clear; I genuinely appreciate your taking the time to help me, and I hate to waste your time.  Please stick with me here . . . .

When I say the male bodies look off, I don't mean that there's anything wrong with how the game is rendering them.  I just don't happen to like the shape of the SOS bodies.  The SOS bodies are shaped a lot differently than the Sundracon body (which is Bethesda's male body with the fun parts put back).  I like the Sundracon body a lot.

I want to use the bodies that come with SexLab so that I will only see the men with hard-ons during the sex animations.

I've tried several things, but the SexLab bodies still don't show up in my game when I select that in the MCM SexLab menu.  I found other postings from players who had this problem, but the "fix" was always for those players to switch to the SOS body.  But that can't be right, can it?

I have a hard time finding things when I search.  When looking for postings in Lovers Lab dealing with the missing/invisible bodies, I usually have to scroll through 40 unrelated postings to find one that's relevant.  Any suggestions for search terms would be very welcome.

Some very good news:  after reading the postings here, I understood that I didn't need to use the "N" hotkey to make adjustments to the characters in a sex animation.  So I tried using the position adjustment keys, and they all worked perfectly!  <lol>  This is really great.  It's like I'm getting to start over with SexLab.  Like a 2nd Christmas!  :)

Thanks you, karlpaws, and thank you, Gameplayer.  My game just got a whole lot more fun.   :star:

Ah, so similar to the more curves / less curves (among a lot of other questions) CBBE or UNP question for female bodies

You were probably onto something when you were asking if the bodies were included or not. My guess from your descriptions is they are not or there is something wrong with the ones you have... or less wrong but just not compatible. Normally though, hands and feet showing but body not showing means something's missing.

I don't use the SL bodies so I can't directly help you. Some of the body installs have FOMOD systems that let you make choices when you install them. You might also look for a \meshes\actor\somethingorother in the SL mod folder in your game install and see if there is anything there.

Honestly i think it actually might be right, i don't think anybody even tried to use the sexlab bodies in years (except those ppor guys with the same problem), i'm really not sure if they are even included anymore and/or work.

If you don't like SoS, you might try SAM, it's a less popular but still mostly supported alternative male body.

If you really want these bodies you might look for male meshes/textures within sexlab, if you use MO just right click sexlab there, then "open in explorer" and crawl through the folders already mentioned by karl paws until you find something. No idea how that works with NMM or Vortex or any other manager. Then, uhm... not sure.^^ If they aren't there (or maybe even in general) you might report it as a bug in the sexlab development thread but since updates there are very rare... i wouldn't set my hopes too high.

My approach would be to check if it's an kinda obvious mistake, like a typo in the folder structure or something like that and try to fix it, but i'm really not sure where sexlab expects these meshes and textures to be. If it's entirely off maybe karl paws or somebody who actually checked sexlabs code might be able to help better.

? Fourpaws & Nazzzgul666:

Sure am glad I found your postings here.  Otherwise, I'd never have posted anything to the SexLab crew about the invisible bodies.  I think I've read every single line of the FAQ and Troubleshooting Guide, but what if I've missed something??  The SexLab crew sounds like they've had way more than their share of dumb questions.

As for the missing bodies, . . . yep, I've looked for them in the SexLab meshes, but no joy.  My SexLab meshes\actors\character directory only has the Animations and Behaviors.  And I've got some strap-ons.  But no bodies.

Your suggestion that maybe the SexLab bodies are no longer included because nobody was using them surprises me a little.  The SexLab Framework is a really impressive mod--way, way more powerful than anything I'd have imagined.  There are so many different options and they work so well.  I've have bet my nickel that the SexLab crew would have removed the 2 options for the male and female bodies from the interface if they removed the bodies.  OTOH, I don't have a better guess as to where the bodies might be.

Right now, as I type this, I'm hoping that I'll learn where the bodies used to go, then I can add bodies of my choice.

I'll post back here after I've gotten a reply from the SexLab guys.

?

(You guys are great.)
