Couple of characters I use in XCOM 2 War of the Chosen. It's a sandbox and thus rather limited, but thankfully with an active modding community that has ported and released countless visuals (and even more other stuff).

 

I usually have two goals when creating characters: 1) make them unique and stand apart from each other and 2) running with a Mass Effect theme mostly. Still, some of my soldiers look like a ragtag band at times.
