D_ManXX2 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I think i found a game breaking bug with dialog. This happened to me at the start of the game, when helping preston i told him i was meeting him at sactuary i did not know that preston would actually seek out player and start dialog while i was busy fixing my power armor. i exited the station and suddenly preston dialog pops up just when a new npc was walking passed him and player and broke the dialog and now i dont see any options you usually see when dialog occurs.. this broke everything since i cannot talk to anyone since the dialog with preston broke. Why did this npc had to walk right between me and preston even if there is enough space around us. stupid AI.
AWP3RATOR Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I cannot remember offhand, but that dialogue sounds like it's initiated through a forced greet when you are in range of Preston after leaving the Museum. That conversation is the last part of "When Freedom Calls" and leads to "The First Step". To end "When Freedom Calls" gracefully, you can enter this in console: SetStage Min00 1000
D_ManXX2 Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 yes it was forced dialog that why it got broken when an npc was walking right in the middle of the conversation. but the real problem it is there is no text preston and player character keeps staring at each other like one of them are suppose to say something only nothing happens.
AWP3RATOR Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 In that case, it may have completed "When Freedom Calls" but did not start "The First Step" - you can use console to sort that out and start the next quest.
