A Random Dude5 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 So my problem is the following: i got done yesterday with installing a bunch of mods, and now when i try to create a character everything works fine except for one thing. As soon as i try to switch the gender the game freezes for a solid minute and then after it unfreezes nothing changes... So my character is still a male and all the other options become unclickable (the options like scars, presets, race, etc) which basically means for me to close the entire game via taskmanager. I followed this guide and for every mod i installed i checked if it said "special edition compatible" before i added it (i also made sure to extract all bsa files with the extractor.) the only one i added without the special edition is the BTRH mod (which is basically just a beautification mod). So yeah other then that glitch that happens when i change gender i have so far not encountered any other glitches or crashes yet. So i hope someone will find a obvious mistake that i missed... srayesmanll Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 I've seen that - in my case I just waited, eventually it did switch to female. I believe it's loading everything for the female, so if you have a lot of hair mods, it can take a awhile to swap. Again, that's for me. There may be something more going on with your setup - you've got several mods I don't have, so it could be a problem with one of those. ------------- Damn you've got a ton of individual NPC replacers. Are there any merged ones that handle those? Or maybe merge them yourself using the MergePlugins app? (Check Nexus for the Merge Plugins "mod").
SpyVsPie Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 SSE Engine Fixes has a racemenu precache killer functionality that can be enabled in the ini (but is turned off by default). May be worth giving it a shot and seeing if it is just too many hair mods and such like sray said. They say on the page that it isn't a necessary fix but on my old build I noticed a huge difference with it turned on.
A Random Dude5 Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Well i can try that but i read about hair mods allready so i tried disabling all of them and all it did was reduce the freezing time. but other then that nothing changed

A Random Dude5 Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Ok so i tried that precache killer and it seemed to act exactly the same as without. so i waited for the freeze to end and then waited another 2-3 minutes. After the wait it did eventually switch to female and worked again fine. so i guess its just taking forever to load. So now i just have to two more questions: Spoiler -So i installed the prerequisite for this mod and it said "special edition compatible" so does this mean it just won't work? -And since i haven't seen the special edition sexlab yet i'm just gonna ask is this normal or is there supposed to be settings here?
srayesmanll Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Full sexlab version for sse is available. You may want to look here for compatibility info: There is a link to the SSE SexLab version in that thread, plus links to many more bits of useful info for SSE. As for Apropos, haven't tried it myself (in SSE), but it supposedly works. You installed JContainers, correct? The version compatible with the SSE version you have? Reason I ask is that SSE updated last week and required a new JContainers. It is updated, but maybe you don't have the matching version? Something to look at. It's also possible that Apropos is not compatible with the newest JContainers. I'll be trying Apropos myself later, so I'll see what I get.
A Random Dude5 Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 just to make sure i don't miss it could you link the full sexlab version and the correct jcontainers? i thought i downloaded the correct one but i could be wrong
srayesmanll Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Unfortunately Apropos is looking specifically for version 3 of JContainers, and the SSE version of JC is 4. So unless someone goes and fixes the Apropos scripts, it's not going to work with SSE. The Sexlab link is in the thread I already linked. It's in the NSFW Mods section. I'll post the link here as well, but look through the first post of that thread I linked, it has all of the info you need,
A Random Dude5 Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 Ah ok so i'll remove apropos and jcontainers for now. I didn't see a link in your previous post btw but i'll check it out. Do i install it the same as the light version? Edit: now after rying to play a bit i encountered another bug: when i try to enter the sleeping giants Inn the game just closes while loading... I'm starting to think i should just play the regular version and only switch to the special edition once everything has been updated a bit...
