Difference between UNP and UUNP?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, i'm fairly new to modding in general and been picking up on things while playing Skyrim. While i have been downloading mods looking for body replace'rs, i see certain armors or mods that require UUNP. When i try to search it up as "Unified UNP" no results come up. Which is why i made this forum due to how confused it is making me lol. What is it? What does it stand for? If anyone can help me out, i will be eternally grateful!!

UNP:

UUNP:

The extra U stands for Unified as in the various flavors of UNP -->*shapes*<-- integrated into bodyslide for universal morph set you can build. Note that these shapes are not actual individual geometry but a standardized* body conforming to something approximating those various bodies.

Generally speaking UUNP is a successor to unp in every area except weighting, designed to fit an asston of armors and animations.

*very loose term usage, bordering on generic marketing speak especially where hipoly vertex or intensive weighting is concerned

Thank you sooo much x.x

So if im getting this right, The bodyslide takes said UNP body shape mesh to where you can conform it into a new shape wich will then be noted as UUNP?

Yep.

UUNP covers almost all the UNP variants, you just build the shape in bodyslide; it uses UNP textures and UV maps.

Just pick a UNP texture set you like, then use bodyslide to build whatever bodyshape you want.
