Altering a mod (not sure what to name the thread)

So I've been using https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/41761 so that I would earn a perk each level. Downloaded https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35979 to see what kind of perks it offers. Does anybody know what to do to get more then 1 perk per level? I tried going into the GECK but I have no idea what to do.

You can use https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45604

You can completely ignore all features (I personally do), but it also has a 'perk every level'.  And that perk-every-level can be set up to have multiple perks per level.

Thanks for pointing out the mod but it looks like I'll have to restart from the beginning yet again to use it. I have a mod installed that lets you respec your char. This mod doesn't kick in til lvl3 but gives an item to let you choose the perks you couldn't get. Problem is, when I try to respec my char stops at lvl3 and won't gain anymore level even though I have the XP. When i gained lvl3 it wouldn't even let me allocate skill points either. I was over 21 hours into this char too.

Edit:Kk, while I do have more then enough XP, when I respec I have to gain xp normally in order to trigger the level up menu for each level.

Another edit:Yup, if your char happens to be lvl50 and you use a respec mod, you're fucked since you need to GAIN xp to get past lvl3.

Limitless stats allows more than one perk per level through it's MCM menu.

That mod seems better but I actually need to set it to 4 perks cause the MCM lists perks per level but you can only choose perks every even level. Thanks for bringing that one up. I have no idea about some of these mods because they're usually part of a larger mob and therefore aren't usually listed under perks.

Edit:Ugh, guess the mod isn't intended for respec'd chars. Spent least 45 minutes carefully choosing each perk, when i finalized the lvl50 perks ht game crashed and I lost ALL that spent time.

I use Project Nevada plus that mod to have 3 perks every level up. Pretty sure there are other mods which enable perks per every level up since most people don't use PN. This mod might also help, https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59629

Think it has script patches to prevent crashes when resetting with more perks not sure.

That's actually the mod I use to respec. I was using a mod that let you take 1 perk EACH level but I had no idea how to increase the number of perks through the GECK. The Limitless Stats lets you choose up to 10 perks EACH even level (Even selecting 2 would still leave me with 50 perks, the same amount as the previous mod). When I tried to respec with Limitless Stats after getting about halfway through the game started to lag badly and drop under 10FPS. Finalizing the lvl50 perks just caused New Vegas to crash

Before doing a respec, you might just want to temporarily disable the autosave (for level up).

Do you have NVAC installed to view the crash log? Likely a script possibly is causing the level 50 crash and it's form ID hopefully would show in the log if it generates one. As for the lag at half way I have used player.rewardxp to level up to 20 without lag, I'd say to start a new game and type player.rewardxp 186,200 XP or to whatever level you noticed the lag (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Level) and see if you get the same lag and crash at 50 while not using the respect mod. If you do you likely have another issue of conflict.

Yes I do have NVAC installed. I installed everything that smoothes out the performance of the game. I just tried making a brand-new char and using the console command to gain xp. Made it all the way to lvl50 with zero lag, right as i finalized the lvl50 perks New vegas crashed on me. In the spoiler is everything that was in the nvac file in the install folder.

Edit:Ugh, whatever the problem is I'll get to it in a month or 5. Does New Vegas bake mod info into the saves like Skyrim does? Removed yet another mod that didn't do it for me, now my save of almost 26 hours won't load, even after rebuilding the Bashed Patch (which I also had to do to get New Vegas to stop crashing after I got rid of Dynamic Weather).
