I presume that make THIS is the only thing that you must need make for solve the problem.

I've had FNIS as a mod ever since I started using MO2.

I just want mods preserved.

Then stick with NMM unless you are ready to reinstall all of those mods. The NMM mod installs cannot be transferred to MO2. When I say "start from scratch" I mean a fresh install of Skyrim SE with no mods.

If you still want to create the second Steam library on the same drive then go back to the Reddit wiki page and follow the instructions to the letter. I'm not sure how NMM will handle moving a modded Skyrim to another location.

Just as the title says. I had to delete fnis files to reinstall it, and this comes up whenever I launch FNIS:

Generator: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\FNIS Behavior SE 7_4_5 XXL-3038-7-4-5\FNIS Behavior SE 7.4.5 XXL\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe
Skyrim SE 64bit: ??.??.?? - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ (Steam)
Expected generator path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users

Your issue is that you installed FNIS incorrectly.

It does not belong in this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\FNIS Behavior SE 7_4_5 XXL-3038-7-4-5\FNIS Behavior SE 7.4.5 XXL\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe

It should be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe

That is the reason why FNIS is not detecting your mods. I have no idea how Sailing Rebel and everyone else that commented missed that key detail. You have extra folders that are fucking up the path that FNIS is searching for the actual data folder. I mean the error even tells you why it's not working where it says: Expected generator path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users

But he is right in that you shouldn't be installing any bethesda games to program files (or program files (x86) I always install steam to the root of my drive. It also has the added benefit of reducing the character size for the filepath which some processes for skyrim and skyrim se have an issue with when the path character count exceeds a certain number of characters.

Also, everything is working fine. I managed my mods, so no unmanaged mods. However, Skyrim has trouble launching up. When I have fins and loot up, mostly without flaw, Skse would launch Skyrim at first, but it would crash before you even see a change. No bethesda logo, not even a dark screen. I know this by watching task manager and Skyrim would just fly under the radar. All the masters for the plugins are there. It might have something to do with trying to get skyrim files out of program files. A little more help?

(Hopefully) Final update. OK, I have managed all of my mods, relocated my skyrim game out of program files and everything seems to be working fine.
