Reginald_001 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Had a weird issue today. One of the homes in my Sim settlement build for Sanctuary had been closed off. It was surrounded by bricks, there was a trap attached to it with a shotgun. It had a 'danger' sign in front of it. The only way to solve it was to choose a different building plan. Unfortunately I'd fixed the issue before I could make a screenshot. The weird thing is, there are other homes in that settlement with the same building plan which don't have this issue. Is this some kind of gameplay element? Like a settler died there or something like that?
Reginald_001 Posted August 27, 2018 Author Posted August 27, 2018 Anyone? I googled up and down about this. Didn't anyone run into it? It was so deliberate. The entire house was closed off with cement bricks. There was a danger sign and a trap attached on top of the wall to keep people out. As if there was a disease in the house or something. It was obviously a deliberate thing, not a bug. Hasn't anyone run into this before?
AWP3RATOR Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 I haven't seen that before, but I agree - seems like a deliberate and scripted response to some stimulus from the game. Is this a Sim Settlements vanilla plan or modded one? I can check mine (and my files/scripts) to see if I can dig anything up - just need to know what to look for: which house plan was it, and from which SS mod? BTW - that's a really cool little inclusion (if it IS deliberate)

BTW - that's a really cool little inclusion (if it IS deliberate) I only use vanilla SS. And yeah it seemed so deliberate. I don't know (honestly) which plot it was, it was just a simple wooden 1 story shack. There was one exactly the same, right from it, which was built at the same time that didn't have it. I've not witnessed it anywhere else. And I've not seen anything about it on the SS forums. I'm waiting to run into it again so I can make a screenshot. I know that one of the developers was testing out 'hazards' but I don't know what that was about. (Ahh: Silly me, because the house to the right was the same plot I could find out which plot it was. I made a screenshot of what it looked like. Just imagine the bricks with a danger sign pressed onto it, and a combat shotgun trap on the top right of it.)
astymma Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 You probably got a VIP resident. As far as I know, when Kinggath made the VIP system, he ended up customizing the VIP system so much using the Wasteland Lounger build so much that he found himself stuck with just that build as the VIP option... so nearly all the VIP decorations are for that particular plot. It's probably just a VIP deco option.
AWP3RATOR Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 @astymma I would agree there. I can't find the specific scripts that do this, but that particular building plan has several VIP styles that could be a contender. The are linked to specific keywords, but I can't follow those keywords to the actual items, leading me to think that SS is doing this with script references only. Kinggath is kind of a wizard and how he set up some of this stuff baffles me.
astymma Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 To be accurate, it's level 3 of the Wasteland Lounger VIP deco called "Private Property" seen here: https://www.simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=File:PrivateProperty_Lvl3.png

Found it! I feel like Obi Wan.. It's an interesting design, as it makes the house unusable for NPC's. ?
