I cut some parts of some armors in New Vegas. For my upcoming companion, its a neck piece like a choker, but it doesnt appear in game :(

But it appears fine in Nifskope.

Can someone teach me how to make it appear in game? I already added it in the game problem is the mesh isnt showing up.

and the request part, if possible can someone convert it for me so it would appear in game.

Here is the mesh :

Thanks

Ark of Truth might know he helped me with this type of problem earlier.

You will most likely have to PM though as he's gone on a break. Sure he will help if you ask him.

He managed to get it done in 5 mins when I PMed him and he even kindly explained to me where I went wrong.

What do you mean what file? ;huh;

Its a nif file, removed from some armor so it can be used as a scarf/choker/neckwear, but it doesnt appear in game for me. It appears on nifskope for me.

I used blender to separate the mesh

A lot of clothes have a ground object file - the nif that gets shown when the object isn't being worn, just lying on the ground. I suppose that if you haven't got one the world object just defaults to the worn clothing nif. Geck expects you to put one in, if you had one I would have done so, but any old ground object file might do - some people just have one go for all their goodies, a tin with their name on it for instance.

The last time I had a problem like this it was a path problem in the nif but I don't see that here. Making objects isn't something I do much.

Ill try setting the mesh too as a world object see if that makes it appear. If not. I might have exported it the wrong way. Thanks anyways.

Anyone feel free to shoot me your ideas.

No luck with setting the mesh with a world object too.

As the geck doesn't complain at all I suspect that the mesh is fine and that the texture is for some reason not being picked up. I don't see why as the path looks ok and the uv mapping is in place.

EDIT: ...or maybe not, I had the idea of assigning the scarf a an alternative texture from within the geck, still invisible, still no complaints....Hmm.

Thanks for the help guys. Managed to get it to work though, used the slave colar as base then made sure its Box50 not upperbody.

I sent this to Ark yesterday so he could have a look at it. Judging by his LL profile he's not going to be around for quite a while :(

He said he would look at it even though the chances are someone would most likely fix it before he could and let you know what the issue was.

No need for that anymore, managed to fix it myself.

Thanks anyways :)

If he does see what was wrong though, I wouldn't mind him posting here in case it crops up again.

Yeah, labrat your right.

Ark if your back download the file on the first post, see if you can make it appear in game.

I want to know what method you did.

What I did is used the slave colar as base, renamed upperbody as box50, I bet its a dirty edit lol.
