Im getting a new rig at the end of the month and Im thinking of plonking that "donation" fee so I can get access to the private area. I just want to know from anyone here if they have donated before and whether the private area is worth the donation cost. GVZ is the only site I know of that even has so many (quality)adult skin modders so it might be worth it to pay abit for hopefully some extra goodies. TII.

dark0nex Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I'm a donar, it really depends on your need. I'm a little confused as to what's the actual status of the site. When donations first started it gave you access to specific mods, such as Vindicus & Resident Evil 5, now I get the impression you need to donate to be able to get any mod, but I might be wrong. Because the site goes down once in a while; to be able to pay the bill for the month, sometimes you get cut off, and you don't know if it'll come back, so all access is denied. For this reason my mods are now on 2 sites, GVZ and Wolflore. Wolflore doesn't have those restrictions, but there selection is much smaller.. much much smaller. Personally I don't enjoy when the site goes down and they require donations, I don't call it donations anymore when it's basically required.... sorta... As much as I love the community, it's members and founder, I don't like the way it's runned for that specific way. But I understand he needs the money to keep the site up, it's sorta a paradox. -- So keep in mind, yes if you donate you get access to everything, but remember you might not have access if the bill is due for a short time. Trent wants to change the site to be able to support it better, but I'm afraid more traffic and less donations might make it harder to maintain... unless people do donate a lot. But then again 5$ isn't much. who?

For Oblivion stuff this place is by far one of the best so I got that covered but for RE5 stuff there just isnt as good a site as GVZ. Maybe there is some Russian site out there that can rival it but good luck finding that. Im currently having issues with the site thats making me reconsider donating. Every time I log in I get logged back out again and Im unable to stay logged on at all. Tried clearing cookies but the problem still persists. As for the forum itself, I agree with you totally. I registered in 2008 and I can remember when the site was run perfectly and with out hitches for the most part but in that last few months that has started to deteriorate more and more. Hopefully the plan to change the site up helps them with their cost issues even if that means they have to stop being purely adult orientated. Guess I'll try to get the log in issue resolved first then donate and grab all the re5 skins I can.

Does anyone know what is happening right now or if the mods were moved to some other place? That site had a whole bunch of mods I was planning to download yet closed down without me knowing about it.

Trent(owner)was having some personal problems.He was still working on GMZ but he just became too overwhelmed by his rl that he shit-canned GMZ and i haven't heard from him since. The RE5 stuff may be at wolflore.net that's where simplesim(author) is hanging out.

I think the email is pretty vital for getting it back alive again and if the threads are saved then rebuilding all the links and instructions for the mods won't be a problem.

Haha, well consider this my notice to you, Master Wizard. To the best of my knowledge, Trent didn't find a buyer for the site. If he did, then someone has been holding onto it for quite a long time and done nothing with it. Having so much of your content lost is a major drag and I really do wish I had your old posts. I recognize you as one of if not the most active members there. The most I can do is offer you a chance to shape the new GVZ how you see fit. Any chance that the mods section of the forums could have a request board? People could list the mods they remember from the old site and we try to rebuild from there.

vancity2 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 i was a member of gvz and gantw i remember you dunno if you remember me, i used to do those sheva skins, based off gadda's nude body mod but ya it sucks gvz is gone but i still got those re5 mods backed up on burned dvd's somewhere lol well up to like sept 2010 or something lol, i actually got a lot of those mods from there backed up somewhere lol titan quest, me2, lara croft etc but right now cant access to them as my laptop's dvd player doesnt work right now lol

I worked on Jill's transparent catsuit or battle-suit for simplesim,i may still have that somewhere. Vindictus blew the place apart as well,hehe i didn't have anything to do with that game but was quite entertained with all controversy and bickering.

If moderation is allowed to become like the old site i'd rather not take part in that.Even Trent had problems dealing with it.One off-topic comment had a mod swooping in like a crazed harpy,being spontaneous was out of the question. I'm just going to wait and watch as everyone jockeys for position.
