Chiquita Dave Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 So, I recently got NMM but decided to swap back to FOMM for my Fallout 3 and New Vegas mods. However, apparently thanks to NMM, The FOMM Package Manager -- or mainly the FOMM Package Manager for NV, as FO3 works fine -- will freeze the program, make it unresponsive, and give me the 'Something bad seems to have happened' error message. Any help with this?
KainsChylde Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 You need to do a full purge of everything both NMM and FOMM related, then reinstall FOMM. NMM screws up a root file that prevents FOMM from working.
Halstrom Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Yep basically, only use NMM for games with no alternative like Skyrim
jrok72 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 I personally use NMM mostly just for downloading from them, manual downloads can becum a pain. Skyrim is the only game for loading with NMM, and then as always changing there changes for my use and fixing load order.
Guest user29 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Just so you know, if you ever launch the New Vegas portion of NMM again even after the fresh install of FOMM it will break it each time you launch it. For whatever idiot reason, they decided the 2 programs should share an exact same file. However you can launch the skyrim NMM and it won't mess anything up.
