Ramunepop Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Hello again! Apologies for the second question so soon, but wasn't sure what to do about this and most other places I've asked haven't replied at all. Okay, so. On my custom outfit there is a holster/open pouch on her thigh, so I imported a blood pack and 2 stimpaks, positioned them and all. When I did weighting, I copied the bones from the pouch itself. It seemed smartest, since I want the items to stay with the pouch which is already weighted, right? Well, the blood pack stays just fine. The stimpaks just refuse to stay in there though. I've tried several times to re-copy the pouch's bones/weights in Outfit Studio (Pouch = Reference, selected all the bones, then selected all the stimpak pieces, then hit copy selected). The colors in the bone section of Outfit Studio seem to match (they match the pouch + the blood pack) and yet they still move incorrectly in game. Is there a better item I can try copy weights from, maybe? Or am I missing a step? I'm still fairly new to the process, and am willing to learn. But for now I've hit a brick wall. The pouch & it's bones: Stimpaks: (the highlighted bone in this is RLeg_Thigh_Skin, but I have copied all of the above bones in the above pic, just like I did to the blood pack, which stays put) In-Game; (Please do not mind missing pieces on her arm, it is unrelated) --- They seem to stretch with her butt? Or something along those lines? I'm not quite sure. As a secondary question: I used a cut-off version of Elder Maxson's coat in an alternate version of the outfit, originating from the Wasteland Fashion Pack (the "Hipster" outfit) and while on the original outfit it's fine, when I stole the jacket in Outfit Studio and then load it into my game, a piece of the jacket in the front (the "dangling part") suddenly becomes either un-rigged or rigged to a completely wrong bone and stretches itself out. I've deleted the jacket and re-imported the nif a few times, not sure where I went wrong. Example:
Andy14 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 When you copy Bone Weights, it does not mean that old Bones are deleted. That was just a general indication, since Stimpaks have no old bones. In OS select the stimpacks, switch to Bone Tabs and scale the bones you have copied. Each affected bone - one after the other. Then you will see if the bone weight is right. The stimpak should scale the same way as the holster and thighs. If this is not the case leave the scaling (for example 100%) and use the brushes for manual correction. Mouse click and brush = increase bone weight ALT + mouse click and brush = reduce bone weight Shift + Mouse click and brush = smoothing of bone weight
Ramunepop Posted July 2, 2018 Author Posted July 2, 2018 The coloring for the weights is the same as something like Blender, right? The redder it is, the more weight it has on that bone? Omg it fixed. I love you so much! Thank you! Do you know what would be the issue for the jacket importing weirdly? I haven't even messed with rigging or anything like that at all on it. I just built it in BS, then imported the clothes onto my outfit, then deleted the bits I didn't need. As it turns out, I'm just a blind bat and didn't realize I wasn't properly check-marking the physics reference from the original NIF jacket file, to copy it to my new file. Solved! Thank you very much Andy, I'm so happy the stimpaks work now. Now I can just work on textures and have it be the easier part.
