SmedleyDButler Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 ...or at least make me choleric... I have a mashup which is almost done (well... the 1 weight of the male armour. But I hope once that's done, the rest will be easy.) I extracted an old collar from some of the Witcher 2 meshes. It was misized when ported, so I was able to fix that using OS 3.5 to discard the incomplete transformation issue. So now I had a mesh which would work fine - or so I thought. I used OS to trim out the collar and also to make sure the weight painting was correct and fixed up. The collar looked good in both OS and Nifskope. Everything cool, right? Noooope. In-game it appears to be improperly weighted (bouncing all over), AND the transformations I made to scale and place it correctly with the rest of the outfit were not applied. Can anyone tell me what Ineed to do to fix this issue? At this point I have no idea? Should I be doing all editing of this mesh in OS 3.5? I deleted some unconnected skirt bones from the original mesh (also attached) - would that have affected the movement? Is there any way I can properly remove them from an isolated collar mesh? HALP! PLZ! Here's a copy of a working, partially-complete test file. StuddedTest.zip cuirass00_1b.nif
SmedleyDButler Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Managed to solve it by turning the collar back into and obj and completely re-rigging and re-weight painting it from scratch, then restoring all the texture data using the original source as a reference. Sometimes all you need is to come back a day or two later...
