NEW UPDATES
DEC 2019: I couldn't really continue allowing my Hates Children sims to be so casual with their kids, so I came back to at least try and make the trait semi-functional for the University Patch. The trait now has basic functionality again, were sims will get the negative buffs associated with hates Children with their own kids, and the new moodlets I built into my expanded additional trait. I would like to work on the mod more and expand on it, but I don't have the time. I will continue to patch-it where I can, and when my workload changes I will try fleshing it out with those much needed features.

What's this?
The Sims 2 and 3 gave us a variety of different Families and how they would behave with one another, from playful and adoring parents (Family orientated), to normal alright ones (No family trait) all the way to cruel and dark ones (Hates Children). You could mix and match parents with these traits and get some really interesting and dramatic stories, but the Sims 4? It fails to address the opposite side of the perfect parent.
At present, Parents are either Goody two-shoes or amazing at meeting their childs needs, and always feel good about everything that happens involving a child...including those with the Hates Children Trait! This system is wrong. We lost our diverse family stories! It has become clear EA/Maxis will not be fixing these issues themselves, so you're stuck with me and my amateur programming!

I would recommend using this Trait alongside the original Hates Children, as I can't quite get all the features I want from Hates Children into a new trait, or vice-versa. I will be merging the two together in the future.

NOTE: Please use WinRAR to extract the files if you encounter difficulties using winzip!

What it does so far

This mod is built into a trait right now and does the following, and works with the University Patch.

1. Sims will get an angry moodlet around their own kids. They also nab an angry moodlet around their grandkids, and even around nieces and nephews. If they are a caregiver, they also get angry moodlets because hey, it's still a child they're caring for. Beware that these stack, so a sim can become enraged very quickly and might have a heart attack.
2. Sims will get the "Ugh! Toddlers!" and "Ugh! Children" buffs with the Hates Children trait, even around their own children! You can make a really angry parent by using the original Hates Children and this additional trait together.

What is to be added  (NO TIME TO WORK ON RIGHT NOW) 

1. A mood scrubber, so that no happy buffs associated with being a caregiver appear.
2. Sims with Hates Children will always reject feeling a pregnant sims belly.
3. Your Sim can opt-out of being a caregiver, even without using the trait.
4. Blocking advice chance-cards added by the Parenthood DLC to those with this trait, or at least give them the option to make no selection. (No longer forcing you to be a parent!)
5. Allowing adult sims to smash kids projects added by Parenthood DLC.
6. Disabling Parenting Skill for those with Hates Children so they never obtain it.
7. Replacing the buffs added by the social worker removing toddlers/children, so Hates Children sims are happy by it instead of upset.
8. Replacing the pathetic recycled "friendly" mean animations towards children and toddlers with more suitable "aggressive" animations on selected interactions (just for some variety).
9. Adding chance of child running away and joining another household, as a result of neglect, rather than being "rescued" all the time (like in Sims 2!)
10. Allow sims to be actively mean to children while streaming (Get Famous) if their reputation is very bad.
11. Caregivers will no longer be psychic and will need to be in the same room as a toddler to know that it needs feeding. (Maxis finally did this! )
12. Turn off the random "check toddler" and "watch toddler" autonomy. This feature is dumb and promotes lazy parenting. (Again, Maxis finally fixed it! )
13. Allow sim teens and adults to fight on command, rather than making it randomly trigger from negative interactions.
14. Giving teens, who have despised relationship with one or both parents, the chance of moving out to live with a friend.

This mod is meant to make parenting more difficult and realistic; no more psychic parents, no more perfect happy families all the time, more dramatic interactions, give mean sims more purpose in life, and no more autonomy for childcare on sims who Hate Children!

BUGS

The dreaded Last Exceptions! I see them now and again, but I don't know what part of my mod causes it because I am still learning how programming and script-modding works, so whilst I will look at the logs you give me I don't think I will be able to understand them, but with enough time looking at them it will help me figure out what might have gone wrong. I am working on this project alone, so any outside help is appreciated. 

CONFLICTS

This mod will not work with other mods that alter the Hates Children Trait. Tested with Parenthood DLC, and appears to function as normal.

TECHNICAL STUFF

In the OLD versions of the mod I modified a LOT of stuff, as I was working on the Moodlet Scrubber. I added this trait to all positive buffs available to parent sims around toddlers (these are buffs only), giving them a blacklisted flag, so they should not appear. These contain changes to list both the Bad Parent Trait and Hates Children Trait under "blacklisted" traits, which should prevent sims with these traits from gaining the positive buffs. Hates Children is already blacklisted under certain buffs, but under normal circumstances still has a slight chance of gaining a positive moodlet, whilst I added my Trait to these blacklists I also made corrections where I could to the Hates Children Trait. These changes no longer exist in the new versions of the mod.

The only files modified are the trait_hateschildren(hidden) and trait_hatestoddlers(hidden) to make it so users of the default Hates Children Trait can still get the negative moodlets/buffs associated with the trait when around their sims own children. For those who want a more angry sim that really hates kids, I recommend using my modified trait alongside it with a multi-trait mod.

At present the full functionality of my positive moodlet scrubber does not work, please see BUGS for more information.

This is something I considered merging into the HatesChildren_Fix.package, but I wasn't sure if anyone was interested. I'll gladly make a little fix to the two traits if I am able to, what did you have in mind exactly?

I uses non commitial trait it's my fav yet I don't like it my sim is just bit tense sometimes while being in relationship/especially marriage he should feel it much more intense and jelous trait should be more wild too with even option to attack and beat sometimes person that can potentially cheat lol jelous people are never happy and not able be with other person without making huge drama

Well right now if your Sim cheats and is caught the Jealous victim can still attack both the cheater and their new partner, but to really benefit from it you need to stack better Traits together for really violent outcomes. Merging Hot-Headed with Jealousy makes for some very intense scenarios. There are ways of getting what you are after without a mod, it's all down to Trait Combinations. As for the Non-Committal Trait, I am going to fix that later when I get everything I currently have on my plate working, like raising the petty +1 Tense buff for being stuck in a relationship to +3 Tense. Of-course, having these buffs too high risks your Sim dying from the extreme emotion.

NEW IN VERSION 1.01

Those with the Hates Children Trait (and should also work for those with the Bad Parent Trait) will now always give the Negative response to "Big News" for the following relationships:

Acquaintances

Good Friends

Romantic Interest

Girlfriend/Boyfriend

Husband/Wife

 

I tested this with the same Sim four times each with two individuals, with both Traits active. The two individuals are one who is his Girlfriend, and the other who is just an acquaintance. All four times, with both ladies, he flagged up the negative moodlet. 8/8 times he was told about the pregnancy he responded negatively. Please note that this fix is ONLY for the Trait, and is not part of the HatesChildren_Fix.package.

NEW BUG
Sim parents that move out of their family household and then back in can no longer opt-out of being a caregiver. I am not sure how to fix this, so please be careful moving your sims out of their homes if you intend on making them NOT be caregivers.

This has a lot of promise. I have played the entire series from 1-4, I remember the sims 1 that my sims were just bad at parenting even though there wasn't much to do with kids, no toddlers or teens. The Sims 2 and 3, awesome sauce. 
I hate all the cutesie and happy-clappy feel to the game, constant hugging and omg I want them to stop with all that. I will keep an eye on this mod.

Thanks, this really bugged me too! Always made no sense to me why a Sim would be evil and cruel to everyone else but then melt into a mushy pile of cuddles and kisses to toddlers! The overall goal is to fix that, but it will take some time. Thanks for the support though!

NEW IN VERSION 1.02

I have split the HatesChildren_Fix and Opt-Out_Caregivers packages from the BadParentTrait just for easier modding right now, as it will help me isolate any problems. The two RAR's are now "BadParent_Trait" and "Fixes_and_Tweaks". In order to allow your Bad Parent to opt-out of being a caregiver, or to have the fixes for hates Children, you will need to use both the BadParent-Base.package and one of the fixes. When I have ironed out the bugs, the BadParent_Trait will have the tweaks and fixes merged back into it again.

There is a really good element in either MCC or Wicked Whims for parents finding out about a teen pregnancy, they all get angry and sad, they all crowd and yell at the teen and I love that addition to the game. I wish certain actions like finding out a kid is out of bed after a certain time then the parent will go in there and discipline that child by automation, maybe altering the curfew board that came with Parenthood as a bedtime. I would prefer a sim when discovering an affair is super angry at both parties, then if the cheating spouse divorces they have a grudge against the two, the kids have a moodlet maybe about squabbling parents. A pair of siblings become rivals and hate one another for getting promotions or getting a new lover and on the opposite say, two siblings who get along and are friends will be super happy about their sibling getting a new job, promotions and become really excited about becoming an aunt or an uncle.  There are so many elements that were in previous sim games through gameplay and mods, it is a shame the sims 4 is lacking in these real-life events.

Okay I have been looking into why the Bad Parent Trait and the Hates Children Fix are generating LE object errors, to no avail, as I simply cannot understand the generated logs people keep giving to me. Would someone with a bit more knowledge in scripting be able to look it over for me?

NEW IN VERSION 1.06

Fixed HatesChildren not correctly identifying the parents for the buff "ugh! toddlers".
Rebuilt the Caregiver Fix for better stability (this should stop some of the LE).
Added a fix for the Autonomous Baby Relationship gain.
Created a new Three-in-One package with additional tweaks.

 

No new changes to Bad Parent Trait, just the optional add-ons which will be integrated into the final mod.

I am still working on this mod, but the fixes for Last Exceptions are proving difficult for me to get around, so any future updates I release may just make things worse. Until I get the LE fixed I won't be uploading any new versions. If anyone with knowledge in scripting knows what I did wrong, then please give me a poke with what you know, it might speed things up a bit!

I am on and off, since I have gone back to the drawing board in learning how to script the mod better. I still don't have much clue as to how I am going to make it work properly, but it will get there eventually. I'm in the middle of moving house right now as well, so that's why I haven't made much progress. I have tried everything I know to get the LE to stop, but they just keep happening, so until I can at least get them to stop appearing I don't feel comfortable releasing the latest version of the mod, which is a rebuild to be used exclusively for male sims (I have decided to split the mod into two; Angry Dad and Depressed Mom, for now anyway).

I keep getting last exceptions using the hates children fixes, the trait doesn't seem to be doing anything like that so I don't know what you mean?

Yes but I incorporated the Hates Children fixes into the core of the Bad Parent mod, since it relies on Hates Children as its "parent" mod. Basically I cloned the trait and made all my changes to it to make it into a new one. So, it cloned everything I messed up with the Hates Children trait fixes.

 

Once I am finished moving house the supposed python code changes will have been made by EA, so I can return to making this mod with fresh eyes. It is likely I will be remaking it from the ground up, since everything I have tried so far to stop the LE and get my moodlet scrubber to work have failed.

I am still trying to find out what is happening to cause the LEs, but I am not a programmer (still learning the basics) so the next update will be very slow. I am sorry for all the errors. Once I have figured out the cause I will be releasing the update right away. I want to keep working on the mod, adding features and getting the scrubber to work, but right now it's getting the LEs to stop. Again, my apologies

Just flagging up now; the trait is not to be used on its own yet. Certain features still rely on you using the default Hates Children trait, I am figuring out how to merge my modifications with the default trait but right now I don't know what to do to make that happen.

It's recommended you use a multi-trait enabling mod, and use both my trait and the vanilla Sims 4 one, until further notice. Oh, and I slapped the old icon on until I figure out how to replace it with the new one.

Sorry, I am going back to what I know best; mesh making! I can't keep up with programming and it is more complicated than I have time to study.

I don't have time sadly to expand the mod further right now, but I have fixed the mod to work with Discover University patch. Unfortunately I haven't been able to rebuild my moodlet scrubber, modify the social worker moodlets, or repair the opt-out feature for caregivers. It's just back to the basics for now I'm afraid!
