Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 http://www.myfoxny.com/story/19722578/design-for-titanic-ii-to-be-unveiled-in-nyc So not only does this guy want to replace the Titanic with an exact replica, but he's going to build it in China.....
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 That said, the irony is the design COULD have been redesigned to be much harder to sink than the previous one, but made in China ? If it rusted and cracked in half while sitting in port I wouldn't be surprised even.
Guest Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Aside from being built in China, I don't see much wrong with this idea. However I highly doubt people would use it because: Average Person's logic = "Well if the original Titanic built 100 years ago hit an iceberg and sank, and this one looks like the original Titanic, then it'll hit an iceberg and sink as well!"
Something Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 If I recall correctly the Olympic class Ocean Liners had serious design flaws which allowed them to sink so easily. If a replica is being made, this guy had better make damn sure it only APPEARS to be the same. Considering modern technology and a century of technological development, I am confident that perfecting the design would be a trivial task.
deathparade Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Yea and not use Apple Maps... (Had to throw in this lame joke!) Why would anyone want a Titanic 2 anyway?
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Why would anyone want a Titanic 2 anyway? Because he loved the movie, has oodles of money and therefore he can. I'm actually suprised some rich guy hasn't gotten a jet that looks like an Xwing yet actually, or some ship from a scifi movie.
ToJKa Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Because it's propably the most well known ship in history?
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 Because it's propably the most well known ship in history? Na' date=' that'd be USS Constitution [right'] [/right]
ToJKa Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 ...The what now? Wikipedia to the rescue, but i don't remember hearing about that before now. I guess it goes with living on the east side of the Atlantic
