Repetative Gamma Gun Idle Noise, HELP!

This is something that has been bugging for a couple of days now, I keep hearing the idle noise that the gamma gun makes and I've tried everything that I've been able to on the subject. I've tried reloading from a save game, exiting out of the game and restarting it from the last save, using the "fks" console command, charging the weapon and firing it... nothing works.

 

I did just use Fallrim tools to clean my last save, so hopefully THAT fixes the issue. Otherwise I guess I'm down to starting a new game or asking for a muted idle sound file for the gamma gun.

I have the same problem. Repeating gamma guns, gatling lasers, and repeating handmade rifles (from nuka world) all do it for me - occasionally (not always), firing them causes the sound to endlessly repeat even when I put it away.

 

Exiting and re-entering the game fixes it for me - no idea why it doesn't work for you. Might be a different problem I guess?

 

I would guess that it isn't any problem with a dirty save. My guess is it's just an engine bug. I could be wrong though - do you have a save from before the problem started?

 

The empty sound file is a good idea for getting rid of the sound, but I dunno if I could handle firing a gun and getting no audio.
