Weird Flying Error?

Hi Everyone!

 

Been a bit (took a small break and rebuilt my PC) and I've now reinstalled a lot of things, and things are working pretty well...except for one odd issue that happens quite frequently. It doesn't invoke a crash or anything...

 

When outdoors and a sexlab event triggers, I'm teleported to the Halted Stream Camp where I'm floated waayyy into the sky, the act engages, then me and the pairing tumble to our deaths.

I have the same thing happen to me. Its random and uncommon but I go to a rock cluster near the giant camp in the fields of whiterun. Never understood why it happens.

It's likely a camera co-ordinates issue, it gets confused and transports you to the centre of the map. Resetting SL animation registry usually solves it for a while for me

There were times for me the registry reset didn't fix it for me, so here some other things you can try:

- clean up defeat additionally

- start a sexlab animation indoors. Will probably let you fall through the ground, but chances are good you're back after the animation ends.

- just let it happen... if you care about the NPC to have sex with, open console and type "tfc" without the ". After that, click at the NPC, his name has to show up. Walk down to the ground, open console again, type "moveto player". That way the NPC won't die from falling down, and you can fast travel wherever shes supposed to be, again "moveto player" and you should be fine.

 

The reason for this in general seems to be that a sexlab scene (.i.e the script controlling them) wasn't finished properly from the last scene. This means if it happens depends on the last scene that happened. It's independent from place, partner, time (except you reload a point before the last sex happened).

Yes it is when one animation interferes with another but the actual mechanism I would surmise seems to be the camera losing co-ordination or trying to be in two places.

 

You can see it in an extreme form using Touring Carriages (which is one long animation when travelling in the carriage) and having a mod like DCL or DH fire at the same time. The effect is quite strange as the camera initially tries to follow the carriage but the pc and attacker are no longer in it but having some fun in the road behind. The camera goes into freeform mode but with no clipping (so you can go below the surface if you want). Eventually everything turns blue and you ctd.

 

That's the extreme version, SL animations are much shorter so I suspect that's why you just get ported to the centre of the map instead. Again with Touring Carriages if the pc is hurt while travelling (causing a minor break in the animation) when you get out you get transported to the sky in the last cell you left.

 

It's all rather academic though as it's just part of the fun of modding :D
