About This File
Homoerotic Faiths adds a new religion, Eroticism, a sexual pagan religion which centers around the worship of male sexuality and features ten diverse variant faiths.
Engage in erotic rituals to earn powerful divine blessings and maybe even awaken and master your own inner divinity. Use the power of seduction to convert others to your new faith, or to awaken homoerotic desires in other men. Create a utopia of free love and hedonist revelry, or reign as a tyrant with an indomitable army of devoted deviants.
Features:
- 10 new variant faiths: From the savage Primalists to the passionate Romanticists to the devious Perverists, there's a flavor of gay sex worship for just about every playstyle.
- Easy custom faiths: Completing your initiation into one of the Eroticist faiths will earn you a huge discount on creating a custom faith of your own.
- Naked men: Of the ten Eroticist faiths, six believe all adult men should be naked whenever possible. Two are alright with clothing, and the last two believe men should always wear armor instead. The nudity effect can also optionally be toggled off, if you'd prefer.
- Erotic rituals: Prove yourself in the Ritual of Virility, gain the blessings of the gods in the Ritual of Communion, or initiate your (adult!) sons to the truth of Eroticism with the Ritual of Manhood. All Eroticist faiths have access to a collection of erotic rituals, each with their own purposes, rewards, and sexy descriptions.
- New seduction schemes: The Awaken Desire scheme will allow you to tempt a heterosexual or asexual man to potentially become bisexual or homosexual, which is especially useful because the Convert to Eroticism scheme will allow you to attempt to seduce people into converting to your faith.
- Divine powers: Optionally, players may awaken their inner divinity and, through a lifetime of erotic rituals, master that divine power and harness it to attain immortality. With enough divine power, the Ritual of Cleansing allows you to heal yourself and others of even the most horrific of injuries and ailments, and the Ritual of Preservation allows you to grant the gift of immortality as you see fit.
- Game rules for customizing your experience: Want both men and women to disavow clothing? Turn on bisexual mode. Prefer not to become an immortal sex god? Turn off divine seeds.
- Nicknames: If you're lucky, you may just find your people extolling your great virility or the firmness of your faith, but if you're unlucky and a bit of a rake, you may just find yourself earning the title of Whore-King instead.
- Plays nice with existing characters: Adult player characters gain access to a decision ("Read Erotic Poetry") that allows them to instantly and easily convert to an Eroticist faith of their choice for free. HF does not modify any existing/historical characters.
Requirements:
- Crusader Dongs 3: Homoerotic Faiths is dependent on the penis size traits and some of the other content from CD3
- Version 1.4.3 of the mod requires the latest update of CK3, 1.19 "Scribe"
- Version 1.4.2 of the mod will only work if you are still running CK3 1.18 "Crane"
Compatibility:
- Anything that modifies the nudity trigger (should_be_naked_trigger): HF's nudity and armor tenets required me to overwrite a few vanilla triggers. It should be compatible natively with CD3 (HF includes the same edits alongside its own), but if you have any other mods that edit the nudity trigger there'll be some conflicts.
- Anything that modifies tenets: The way tenets work has recently been overhauled, but it seems like you can still only have one mod that modifies tenets at a time. The list has been moved to the new common/religion/doctrine_group_types folder, so it is at least easier to combine tenet lists from multiple mods now, but you will still need to edit some files to make HF work with another mod that changes tenets.
- HF also makes minor edits to two vanilla events (lover.0003 and lover.0300, found in the events/relations_events/z_hf_overridden_lover_events.txt file), and two vanilla traits (crusader_king and faith_warrior, found in the common/traits/hf_overridden_traits.txt file). Both of these are very minor edits and if they're causing issues with conflicts, you can safely delete them.
Note on future compatibility/requirements:
When the upcoming DLC By God Alone releases, it will almost certainly break this mod. I do plan on updating (or possibly completely remaking) Homoerotic Faiths to work with the new DLC, but there will be massive changes, and the mod will probably require By God Alone to work once it's released.
Faiths:
Each Eroticist faith features three custom tenets, one each from three categories. Several faiths have one or two tenets in common, but never all three!
All Eroticist faiths are considered pagan for faith hostility, and are organized/reformed to enable holy wars. There are a total of 15 new holy sites for Eroticism scattered across the map, so no matter where you start you should always at least be within pilgrimage distance of one.

If you want to edit this mod to suit your personal tastes, or to add your own content to it, or to make it compatible with another mod, or to update it because it's been broken for months and there's been no sign that I'm going to update it myself, then please go right ahead! I encourage you to do so, and I apologize in advance for all the deranged rambling in the code comments. I am by no means an experienced coder, but I did at least try to make my code legible to others (and my future self for that matter) in the hopes of making it accessible to anyone who wants to edit it, or even just use it as a reference for making their own stuff. Hell, if you want to just take the whole thing and use it as a foundation to make your own mod, Homoerotic Faiths But Better, then by all means, go nuts.
What's New in Version 1.4.3
Released
Re-uploaded version 1.4.2 for players who have not yet updated CK3 to version 1.19
1.4.3 (For CK3 1.19 "Scribe")
- Fixed the mod to match the updated file structure for religions and tenets
- Added the new aging ailments (Faltering Heart, Fragile Bones, Clouded Eyes and Withering Mind) to the Ritual of Cleansing, they are now Tier 3 ailments like Infirm is
1.4.2 (For CK3 1.18 "Crane")
- Updated several events to use CD3's new threesome animation
- Unlanded NPCs with the True Eroticist trait will now occasionally perform the rituals of Communion, Virility and Desire, allowing them to progress as Eroticists
- NPCs will now strongly prefer to select the blessing that matches their education trait when performing the Ritual of Communion (Fun Fact: It's been just over a year since I started making this mod and only just now noticed that I forgot to implement this until now)
1.4.1
- There are now UI notifications to let you know when people important to you are in need of a Ritual of Cleansing or are ready for their Ritual of Manhood
- Curses are now significantly more powerful: Three-Horned Dreams now increases stress gain by +66% and decreases stress loss by -66%, Curse of the Horned-Father is now a -6 penalty to all skills, and Consuming Corruption is now deadly enough to swiftly kill even healthy characters
- If an attempt to inflict a curse fails, you can now force a successful infliction at the cost of dramatically increased stress
- Victims of curses will now suffer a nightmare that inflicts further stress. Casting curses may cause you to suffer one of these nightmares yourself, especially if you forced through a failed infliction
- Added LOTS more random events. There are new random events, a few travel events, and new dreams of erotic lore that will give you experience in the True Eroticist trait
- Polished up some existing events with new backgrounds and camera angles
- The Ritual of Preservation now has a confirmation event that allows you to cancel the ritual, and it only deducts the piety cost once you confirm the ritual rather than upon sending the interaction
- The Pilgrim and Wiseman/Mystic traits now give all forms of expertise. Gallowsbait now gives curse expertise
- The Jade Paterlith now gives +20% monthly income instead of +25% court grandeur change. The Jade-Father was envious of the Gold-Father's superior paterlith buff, so He copied it
- Swearing an oath of blood brotherhood will now share the Divine Seed trait to your blood brother (This also works in reverse, giving you a divine seed if he has one and you do not)
- The Convert to Eroticism scheme can now be used on blood brothers and best friends even if they aren't sexually attracted to you. They're willing to be flexible just for you
- The Ritual of Manhood will now check if your stargazer is a valid priest, though it will still prioritize your court shaman or camp priest if you somehow have both
- Gaining scatterseed will now trigger an event where you decide whether or not you wish to keep it. If you choose to keep scatterseed, it will no longer be cleansed by the Ritual of Cleansing, and the Ritual of Desire will eventually allow you to master the condition. If you choose to get rid of it, it will remain cleansable but you will not be able to master the condition. You can reconsider your choice at any time with an interaction on yourself
- NPCs will also make their own choices on whether or not they wish to keep scatterseed, based on their personality. If you use the mold form interaction to give an eternal son scatterseed, he will accept your decision and resolve to keep it regardless of his personality
- There is now an interaction that will instantly convert lovers and consorts to Eroticism without needing to use the scheme. The scheme was already guaranteed to instantly succeed on lovers and consorts, so this mostly just helps the NPCs convert their spouses
- Divine Destiny now grants +25% accolade glory gain, increases maximum acclaimed knights by +1, and grants +1 diplomacy and intrigue per devotion level to make it a bit more useful outside of administrative governments
- Removed the torture effects from Divine Deviancy, as they were nonfunctional. The vanilla code apparently checks specifically for the Exaltation of Pain tenet, not the doctrine parameters
1.4
- Added game concepts to tooltips to help explain some of the mod's mechanics and give some lore and flavor.
- Sanguinism, Dominism, and Perverism are now fundamentalist instead of pluralist. Primalism is now righteous instead of pluralist.
- Funerary tradition now varies between the Eroticist faiths, instead of all being stoic burial. Some faiths now have bewailing burial, family rites, or cremation instead
- Compassionate is no longer a universal virtue for all Eroticist faiths, and sadistic is no longer a universal sin. Instead, the Sacred Body tenets now make one trait virtuous and one sinful
- Added the expertise system. There are three types of expertise: healing, sexual, and curse.
- Healing expertise improves the Ritual of Cleansing
- Sexual expertise increases experience gain for True Eroticist and Divine Seed, and also improves your chances of success in the Ritual of Virility and provides other miscellaneous benefits
- Curse expertise unlocks and improves the new Inflict Curse interaction
- Added three new tenets, and adjusted most of the existing tenets
- The Sacred Body tenets (Sacred Humanity, Sacred Masculinity, Sacred Flesh, Sacred Regalia, Sacred Steel, and Sacred Cloak) now each grant an expertise bonus and make one trait virtuous and another sinful
- Most of the Bonds of Community tenets have had adjustments made, most notably Bonds of Service which no longer reduces tyranny gain but now grants bonuses based on dread, increases the toughness of your men at arms and reduces friendly fatal casualties
- The Divine Duty tenets have also been given expertise bonuses (which stack with the Sacred Body expertise bonuses), and have had a few minor adjustments as well
- Added Divine Destiny, a new Divine Duty tenet. It has been given to Bacchism and Regalism (replacing their previous tenets of Divine Wisdom and Divine Fatherhood respectively). It grants bonuses focused on adventurers and landless administrators, such as faster and cheaper domicile upgrades, bonuses to influence and merit, and access to the "become adventurer" decision
- Added a few random events that can occur if your character is an adult man (18 years old, not 16). Some have more specific requirements, such as having an adult man held prisoner in your dungeon, or following a faith which believes penis size determines right to rule but not having a big enough penis for your rank
- Scatterseed is now much more punishing. It is no longer considered virtuous, inflicts a -3 penalty to all skills instead of -1, and triggers random events that are often harmful or annoying. However, if you stick it out and keep scatterseed for long enough, the Ritual of Desire might teach you to master the condition, removing the negative effects
- Overhauled the Ritual of Cleansing. Instead of having four ranks unlocked by Divine Seed, it has two ranks, and the ailments each rank cleanses depend on your healing expertise. Conversion chances and opinion gain work much better now as well, especially when cleansing multiple ailments at once
- The three core rituals, Communion, Virility, and Desire, have had some minor adjustments, and now give you the Erotic Exhaustion modifier which prevents you from performing any of the other core rituals for 3 months
- Added two new tenets that do not appear on any of the existing faiths. These are stripped back versions of the Eroticist tenets for players who would like to create a custom faith that is not significantly more powerful than a vanilla faith but still has access to HF's features like erotic rituals and male nudity. Divine Sexuality unlocks erotic rituals and removes penalties for polyamory, and Ithyphallicus Regnat makes men nudists and large penises virtuous
