Kallista's Body Work

So earlier today I made a post in the Counterparts thread showing off some tweaks I made to Kallista's body in Bodyslide.

Truth be told, it was done on a whim.  Kallista's old body was a fantastic fit for her, and I was always completely happy with it.  But yesterday, I found myself thinking "could I improve upon her?"  There were aspects of her character that I thought could be further driven home with some changes, like how she's supposed to have the biggest tits of any of my mortal characters, or how she's a heavy plate wearing two-handed warrior.  For the most part, her old body did this.  Her hips and ass aren't as round as Nchella's or Raelyndreth's, her torso is slightly beefier compared to any of my other characters, and her boobs are pretty damn big.  Still, I thought, I might be able to do better.

So, I tried.

Firstly, I must apologize, since these pics aren't really perfect 1:1 comparisons.  If there's commands to rotate or zoom along only one axis for Bodyslide's preview, I don't know it.  The 3/4 and side views are okay but the head-on view is obviously slightly more zoomed in on the new body which really throws off the comparison given how subtle the changes are.

Anyway.  Basically, I made her bigger.

Shoulders and calves un-smoothed. Torso em-biggened by about 10%.  Tits bumped up in pure size as well as given a slight fantasy push-up.  I rounded her ass off a bit, beefed up her thighs, and after going back and forth a bit, wound up leaving her hips and hipbone about where they were.  Something about that slightly more angular look suits her more than the round Hartman hips that some of her compatriots enjoy.  Arms got a slight upgrade, too.

Her tits are pretty much as big as they'll ever get - any bigger and I'll never be able to make a chestier demon character without them looking egregiously cartoony.  I may go back and further beef up her arms, torso, and shoulders, but I'm not into Amazons, so if I do, it won't be much.  I'll stretch my boundaries a bit for the sake of a character (Selune and Eldawen being rail thin in comparison to all my other girls is testament to that fact) but at the end of the day I won't make something I don't like.  Probably why my story posts never have anal and tend to involve proportionally waaaay more blowjobs than they need to, but that's neither here nor there.

Ah, but I almost forgot!  Her body isn't the only thing that got tweaked!

One thing that's always bugged me about Kallista's face is her mouth.  It just didn't play as nice as it could have with facial animations, and was always a bummer.  So, I switched it out for a different one, then tweaked it to be as similar to the old as possible.  So the end result is no meaningful change to her actual face, but an improvement to how the mouth behaves when emoting.  Had to tweak her chin a fair bit, though, since the new one had sort of an underbite.  I fixed it, though, and got her chin back where it belongs!  Hopefully as I have her emote in future shots, the improvement will become more obvious.

I also put a bit more color into her cheeks and lips, though the lighting here doesn't really show that off.

Anyway.  Hope y'all enjoy the read!

One day, I'll eventually put time and effort into bodyslide and actually tweak up the body I want instead o' finding one and going "ehhh, close enough. One day...one day.

Agree with the mouths, mine tend to have two expressions no matter the situation, permanantly pissed off, or smiling like a lunatic.

I envy folk that have the patience fer it, yer girl's lookin good. :]

She looks more tired in Pic 2. Tired as in "I just went trough college, end my misery".

What I do is I have a body type for almost every character I take screenshots of.  Kallista has hers, Nchella and Elaanya share one, Selune and Eldawen share one, and Raelyndreth gets her own.  With the exception of Selune and Eldawen's body, I only tweak the 100% weight version and leave the 0% alone.  Then I just pick a few outfits to build specifically for them (Selune isn't going to wear anything Kallista would typically wear, so there's no reason to worry about making sure all my outfits fit every character), build their body, and play.  It's a pretty good solution to making characters look like individuals when you lack the patience and skill for faces like I do.

I don't see it, personally, but the lighting, posing, expression etc are all pretty wildly different so I can see how they'd be hard to compare.  I kinda slapped that together as an afterthought, didn't really consider doing a comparison when I was making the tweaks.

I saw you made thicker thighs, makes sense to enlarge them as big breasted individuals generally have more fat (even though there can be muscle under the fat). As for the arms, females' "gynoïd" fat repartition tend to get more onto breasts, thigs, and butt. So even if they shouldn't be thing, you don't need to increase them as much as legs/butt to be proportionate. Smiley_henri_gaud-belin_HFR.gif

I had similar issues when I installed my enb : it highlighted that my breasts shaping wasn't regularly curved, and that two of my girls had a kinda blocky mouth/jaw under some points of views. As I corrected the breast issue, I did use the occasion to make the body even more realistic. However, I did only correct the mouth on one of the two said characters, as tuning it kinda changed the face of the second one, and I didn't want that.

The overall intention was to try to make her look beefier and stronger, hence the slight increases to her arms and calves.  She's a heavy plate clad warrior who wields a two-handed sword as her weapon of choice, so she's gonna have some noticeable muscle.  I was thinking more muscle than fat when I beefed up her hips and ass, too, but you're quite right about the fat deposits.  That mead she drinks goes to the right places.  ;)

You wouldn't believe the shit I put up with when I installed my current ENB.  My skin textures basically self-destructed, I had to reinstall and re-blend everything from scratch.  Not a long process once I nailed the problem down, but man, that was a hell of a day of troubleshooting just to find out it was, somehow, just Caliente's Texture Blender that was the problem.  Apparently, even though everything looked fine in vanilla and with a full Unbleak install, when I swapped to a modern ENB, textures blended specifically with that tool just shit the bed.  It was bizarre.
