So, I try not to update everything everyday because information overload but because I was also a bit behind schedule, I dropped this bonus a little late.

As you've gathered from the title of this entry, this is about ~>Love Me Long Time<~. This film was particularly challenging and I was worried at the end that it wouldn't be up to snuff. What made this so challenging? The execution of a POV (point of view) style video. It is exceedingly hard to film from a Sim's perspective. The game itself does not make this easy but it can be done if you are patient and determined to make it work. So let's go over some of the easier parts.

The sex. I have to hand it to the animators for making some of the best sex animations for the Sims ever. A few of the positions like missionary, a few of the doggy's, and cowgirl were a no go. The Sims were just too close together to really pull it off without a great deal of clipping but the animations that did work, worked well. I was thrilled that I could get the shots I wanted without the clipping and it helped make this feel like a true POV.

The harder parts of filming POV were the conversations. The Sims get really close to each other when they're flirting so, often after I've set the camera to line up with Lace's eyes and went for it, Edward's face would push through and I'd get the impression of his pixel face. Needless to say, I kept the conversations very short (but I compensated for it later, and I'll tell you how). I knew from the beginning that I could not have Edward walking with Lace, there was a chance he'd interrupt the shot. He was only used for conversation and those shots where he appears in the mirror and of course, the sex scenes. Those scenes with the camera panning or moving throughout the house are just me and the camera. Edward was outside where his little cries of glee couldn't be picked up.

So how did I manange to get it to sound like the two of them were talking when he wasn't even in the scene? I recorded them talking to each other--using a variety of social interactions for the audio and inserted those clips where Lace's face wasn't on screen. It worked out well, I'm very pleased to say.

A few finer points...

Set Design

This isn't the first time I've built the set from the ground up but it is the first time I built an actual house. The bonus I promised is a build video so you can see, almost start to finish, what I did to make this house the beauty that it is. I'm actually planning on playing in it, if I ever get the time to myself lol. The world I used for the film is the Suvadiva Resort and you can find it here.

Storyline

Since this isn't Lace's first video and certainly not her last I thought of giving her a jump off point. You've seen her with clients, she's a Callgirl but I had the thought that Love Me Long Time could be her very first porn film. That's right, Lace has made the transition from Callgirl to Pornstar. She'll still take clients but her days of hooking the streets of whatever city she's in are over. I have to say I'm growning attached to Lace. She's carefree, completely fearless, and has all of my sexuality without a fraction of my restraint. The story's behind the spoiler, don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't gotten around to watching the movie yet.

Editing

Woo boy! The editing was such a drag lol. I'm an amateur (being extremely generous here) in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (in fact, I barely touch AE because it scares the living shit out of me). I did take a class in Photoshop back when I was studying photography so I have a tiny grasp on what I'm doing but damn it this was hard. H-A-R-D.

I did have fun though. For the photoshoot scene, I used a DSLR overlay, shutter click sfx, and a little flash to make it look like the shutter was opening and closing--just like with a real camera. If you saw my last entry then you saw me use the overlays on those photos of Lace.

The song was La Caution by thé à la menthe. It was used in Oceans Twelve (another one of my favorite movies) in my favorite scene. If you haven't seen the movie, you should check it out.

A few miscellaneous things...

Lace bares it all--she always has, it's one of the things I love about her, that and her versatility. It's pleasing for a lot of people to see her naked, barely covered, or in the act but it's doubly pleasing to see her fully clothed in designer digs or just lounging around the house in some shorts and a t-shirt. Some people like her with her piercings and tattoos, others like her all glamorous with no tattoos but I wanted to stay true to the Lace I made and put her right in your face in all her tattooed, pierced, pink haired glory. BTW, the short hair is a "wig". Lace has always had long hair but I wanted to give her an edgier look and went with a bob.
