A few days later, Lovenia visited her new friend/Sister again - as Zil had promised, to talk about the events of the months she had been away.
Zilphia: "Hello, Lovenia. It's nice to have you back. I hope you had a good time while you were away."
Lovenia: "Oh, absolutely. But I’ve had to think a lot about my situation and meeting you."
Zilphia: "I certainly hope you aren't too confused."
Lovenia: "No, no! Everything is fine."
Zilphia smiles contentedly and begins to recount the terrible events that unfolded while Lovenia was away. She speaks of the discovery at Saarthal and the chain of events it triggered, a sequence that culminated in the Altmer Ancano succumbing to a kind of madness and nearly threatening the very existence of many. Lovenia tries to follow the story, gazing at her sister with wide eyes, and notices the serious, somber tone in Zilphia’s voice.
Then, after a brief pause, her tone shifted again, sounding more hopeful. Yet before continuing her account, she briefly changed the subject - though it was related: "Have you noticed that you’re no longer wearing your collar?" Eni reached up to her neck, sure enough, it was gone, and Zil suddenly detected a note of sadness in her voice. "Does that mean..." the young succubus asked her sister, looking slightly horrified. "Sadly, yes. Tolfdir is no longer among the living. The consequence is that you are no longer bound to him."
Lovenia looked at her sister in horror, unsure of how to make sense of it all. Zilphia then tried to continue her explanation. "We also found the 'contract' he had drawn up. However, we aren't able to dissolve it, as it is bound to both of you. We were only able to modify it slightly so that you could enjoy a bit more freedom." Zil looked at her with concern, knowing this was bound to have unexpected consequences for her.
Then the red succubus added: "We transferred it to my name, even though I didn't want that. Because I became his successor." Eni looked at her now with even more questions in her eyes: "Contract? Master Tolfdir is no longer alive? YOU are his successor?"
Zilphia explained to her why everyone had made this decision. They all felt that only a succubus should lead another succubus. Although she now held the rank of Archmage, the leadership of the academy was shared among several individuals. While Zilphia was certainly a capable healer and alchemist, the fact that she remained a Daedric creature would have sent the wrong signal to outsiders.
Lovenia began to realize the situation, and she now looked toward her sister with a touch of humility. Zilphia, for her part, gave her the time to process it all.
After a while, Zilphia says to her with a slight smile: "Darling, nothing is changing in our relationship. After all, you can do whatever you want now. Besides, you no longer have to accept any humiliation you don't want to. Try looking at it that way."
At that same moment, Zilphia spreads her arms, signaling that Eni can lean on her - an offer Eni gladly accepts. In the very same breath, she says to Zil, "You really are what I was missing. You are truly kind to me."
Lovenia walks toward Zilphia and turns her back to her, allowing her sister to embrace her. She leans against her, and it is evident how comfortable she feels in her arms.
Zilphia: "I will be there for you, and that’s a promise. Even though I’m not your real sister, I will always give my best, so that you can see me as one anyway." – "Thank you, Zilphia."
Their tails touch gently, and the young succubus feels visibly at ease in the care of her tall, red-skinned sister. Thus, the evening ends with a sense of security for Lovenia. Zilphia considers it a wise decision to tell her what matters. She is considering how she can show her gratitude to Zilphia.
