Equinian Timeline [SPOILERS]

"Our history begins with chains of brass. A race who perhaps, knew that what we would later call Hammerfell, was once a land of lush forests, meadows, grasslands. The knowledge of what happened to change most of the province to a nearly barren desert was lost to us, and the Dwemer held no interest in us, beyond what use we could be to them. But our use would be paramount to their progress in the region. Within years, we were not whipped slaves, but held in high esteem, as we began working for ourselves, to produce goods, to protect their cities, and at the height, advise them when they sought a solution that they themselves, would not consider otherwise. But when another event occurred, one that changed our race again...we were left holding the reigns of their power, left behind by our former masters. Their secrets, thus spilled into our heads, and we took upon ourselves their works, cities, and all they had left behind in Hammerfell. The strongest among us, the one who took charge not out of a wish for power, but out of a duty to our people, Celeste, became our first Queen, and fostered a lineage of royalty that perhaps, will last longer than any other."

>???? - While his name is unknown, even to the Equines, the Dwemer who once sat upon a throne of his race's creation - one that was otherwise unremarkable - witnesses a glorious star-fall one night, one of these being large enough to cause vibrations as it flew past his city. One week later, a scouting party would report that a meteor had struck about three day's ride from the Dwemer capital city in the province. A month later, two weeks taken to move the large object to the city itself, one to consider what to do with the large object, and another to commence the work, aided by Automatons. Inside a shell of the obvious Meteoric rock, was a near perfect sphere of a deep purple crystal, which seemed to have a unnatural glow. The majority of this was fashioned into the backing of a new throne, and it was then known as the Celestial Throne. Additionally, gems were carved from a large piece that this Dwemer King himself chipped off, these being made into the centerpiece of four crowns, one for himself, his wife, and his two children.

>??? - Established as a passage across provinces, Volenchend becomes similar to Blackreach, but in time it's structures offered more in the ways of comfort and recuperation for those traveling between provinces, than knowledge - even if this was still to be had. Of note is a single Dwemer who would oversee the location - given the title of the Watcher, this Dwemer ensured the prosperity of his people over his 100 year vigil. At the end, the title was passed to his son, and it is not known if any others possessed the role.

     >When the Snow Elves() turned to their uneasy allies for help, the Dwemer offered a simple price - their very sight. Living within the halls of Volenchend, a group of Snow Elves not only were faced with this same price, but were soon treated differently afterwards, relegated to one area of the fortress, with them and their subsequent generations facing the same degradation as others of their race.

>???? - Khruz, a Dwemer of Noble blood, finds a site on the edge of Skyrim's western border, and seeks to build a structure at the location. Two structures are settled upon - a spanning bridge(later known as Deep Folk Crossing, hinting at the fact that the fortress served as passage to both the later known High Rock, and Hammerfell.), and Onikaanfell, a name chosen by Khruz himself, incorporating his knowledge of the Ancient Nordic or Draconic language. This was to be a fortress of his own, where he could proceed with his work without interruption.

           >Seeking to advance the knowledge of sentient races, Khruz conducted various experiments to understand what makes a living body work. Though his work could be described as barbaric, he tended to avoid causing undue harm, even to races that were considered "lesser" by his own. These endeavors gained him a substantial amount of knowledge on various topics that never became common knowledge, as he perhaps intended - even among other races.

>???? - Khruz welcomes a few former prisoners to his fortress. Intended for non-lethal study, they were given warm beds, food, and clothes on par with the expensive fabrics that Khruz himself wore. Part of his study included looking into the reasoning behind their committed crimes, and considering what could be done as a result. However, his interactions with an equine who had seen just under two decades of summers, Sid, revealed that his crimes were false, nothing more the leveled accusations that have little to no backing proof. Even worse? Beyond his incarceration, he had also been given a sentence by the laws of his own race, following the logic that he was indeed, guilty.

>Some Dwemer believed in a rumor, legend, or perhaps a prophecy, that suggested their reliance on knowledge was to, at some point, fail them. A great mistake, that would spell doom for the race. To this end, many Dwemer built Tonal Structures within their fortresses or cities, that would ring out with six notes, if this was ever to occur. It was intended as a warning, but if those sounds were ever heard, it was assumed that nothing could be done to stop what was to come.

>1st Era, 700 - In the aftermath of the Battle of Red Mountain, the disappearance of Dwemer left the Equines effectively free from the bondage of the Deep Elves, though that was less than relevant than it had been even fifty years prior. Celeste, personal guard to the highest Dwemer leader in the region, made efforts to see to her people, and took the throne as the race's first Queen not long after.

         >The fortress of Onikaanfell falls silent, save for the machinery still working away, and those left behind in the wake of it's master's disappearance.

>???? - With the Dwemeri Capital in Hammerfell, the Equine guard who once protected the Dwemer King in the region, sees her people look for guidance in the wake of their erstwhile master's disappearance. To this end, she makes a statement to them, suggesting that "We are no longer under the rule of the Deep Elves. Their disappearance was sudden, and of course unexpected. But in it's wake, I feel we must not lose ourselves awaiting their possibly impossible return. We must move forward." One voice from the crowed shouted "QUEEN CELESTE!". Within short order, many echoed this exclamation, and before perhaps a few thousand of her people, she held one of the Crowns aloft, silently agreeing with the crowd.

>2E(Late) - The Convergence is formed - it is the effective merging of two unofficial schools of learning among the Equines, the Order of the Dawn, and the Order of the Dusk. Though not merged completely, as within the Convergence they are together, but not entirely separate. Equines are formally allowed to enter into either school, and study subjects from both, though most tend to identify themselves as part of one or the other.

>3E, 5 - Equinian Royalty officially endorse the use of Gold, or "Septims" as currency, opening up trade to and from Tamriel's 3rd Empire. The use of the former Dwemer currency, "Dumacs" or coins minted from Ebony, becomes less common, but still acceptable, even to other races, who still placed a value in Ebony.

            >Additionally, the Equines send two envoys to the Imperial City, intending to ensure their own sovereignty, and to begin forming a simple understanding - if nothing else, they would be allies of the Empire, never enemies.

>3E, 50 - This year sees the first Equine to join the Imperial Legion.

>3E, 433 - Between the skill of the Equinian guards, and automatons that obeyed the race's Royalty, no less than Seven Oblivion gates are closed - colossal sized Automatons grinding the profane stone to dust. The captured Sigil Stones were placed within the Equinian Royal Vault, intended to remain out of even the reach of the Convergence. Three cultists were apprehended, and two killed. In an abnormal situation, the three cultists found themselves subject to the heaviest sentence under Equinian law - castration.

>4E, 10 - Reaching the top of the Convergence, the oldest male in the noble Sangui family, Orion, declines to challenge for the highest rank within the group. He instead announces his leave, and within two years, he has left Hammerfell entirely, settling in Skyrim.

>4E, 20 - (W.I.P)

>4E, 140, Winter - After ruling their people for 20 years, the Equine King and Queen announce the arrival of their first son - Casul(phonetic, "Ca-sul"), born into the races' Solaris bloodline.

>4E, 150, Summer - The Twin Bloodlines of the Equine race welcome three new siblings, two daughters, and a son - Aida, Amelia, and Typfon.

>4E, 160 - Prince Typhfon is granted the rule of a island to the south of Hammerfell, which consisted almost entirely of a Dwemeri City, it's palace being similar to the Equines' in Hammerfell. Beyond members of the Royal family, few know why he was sent there. Only speculation exists, with some citing his Lunari blood as the reason.

>4E, 170 - After she proved her skill in Magic to the top ranked within the Order of the Dusk, Aida Lunaris' travels both the territory of her people, and some of Hammerfell. It seemed her wish to know her people, and others, rarely introducing herself as royalty.

>4E, 175 - After the signing of the White-Gold Concordat, Hammerfell leaves the Empire. The Equines, while located in Hammerfell, choose a slightly different path. They too, condemn the WGC, but still maintain ties to the Empire, though they have openly suggested this fragile alliance may crumble, in time. Should a second war occur, the Equines would either side with themselves, or with a side that does NOT include Thalmor, or those who would support them, or their ideals.

>4E, 180 - Of a well known, and respected bloodline, Auro Lumens joins the Convergence, later than most, as it seems he was unsure of taking such a path in life. But his growing relationship with another Equine, who was herself a member, convinced him.

>4E, 190 - In a test of skill, the Patriarch of the Order of the Dusk, Auro Lumens, wins against the top competitors, winning the top seat of the Convergence. His fellows within the Dusk, and Dawn, agree to this appointment.

>4E, 195 - Reigning for only two years, the eldest brother of the Equines twin royal bloodlines faces deposition - not only by the Equine Council, but also by an open challenge by Amelia Lunaris, his own sister.  The aftermath of this, has Amelia crowned as Queen, and her elder brother exiled. A day later, Auro attends Amelia's first seating of her court, and when given the chance to speak, he kneels in support of her rule, as well as the entirety of the Convergence.

>4E 200, Sun's Dusk - A member of Equinian Royalty, Aida Lunaris, arrives in the Reach's capital, Markarth. Discussing her plans with the Jarl, she secures a Dwemer ruin outside of the city for lodgings. Some are confused at her acceptance - as far as everyone knew, that location was either locked, or otherwise inaccessible. But many would soon look upon the same location a mere month later, which now looked much more alive - pipes spewing steam, and two automatons guarding the Exterior.

         >4E 201, Spring - A small group of Equines make a lofty proposal to the Jarl of the Reach, attempting to secure space in the hold for a bakery. Taking Aida's notice, she managed to do far better - allowing the group not only space within Understone Keep itself, but a few automatons to ensure the space was as needed. A tax on their sales was negotiated, and soon, the confections sold could be seen gracing even the Jarl's table.
