Anyway onto the subject of this blog; an anime series called BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. Which should be a series I shouldn't like given that it's overly cute nonsense but it does one key thing I want from all my entertainment; it entertains me. The setup is the main character Maple is a newbie gamer playing a VRMMO however unlike Sword Art Online she's not trapped in a death game so she can log out at any time which means there is no risk to what she does in the game and no consequences to any fuckups  and honestly this is a nice change from all the isekai anime where some random otaku is transported to a fantasy world that works on RPG logic and gets OP with no effort. So what goes on in the show? Basically it revolves around Maple stumbling into ways to break the game, completely by accident and it's interspersed with the developers complaining about her as well as a message board talking about her and her bullshit. so why do I like it so much? It's probably because nothing about the events of the show ARE serious, just about everything is played for laughs and I'm curious to see how bullshit Maple gets as it goes on. Really it's just something nice and entertaining to watch while I'm relaxing playing other games.
